      Iggie's workbook [Intro class]

      Hi everyone!

I became interested in the art of lucid dreaming during 2014 holidays. By that time I always thought i have no dreams. The blessed internet made me realise I just don't remember them, so I started working on my dream recall. The results came immediately. Every evening i convinced myself i will remember my dreams and so I did (or maybe not every night i did, but surely most of the times).

I could recall my dreams, but then the school came back and I didn't work on attaining lucidity. I seriously started working on that in february this year, which resulted in 2 LD's, but those were weak. The first time I did RC, but suddenly the dream changed completely and I have forgotten about the awareness. The second I performed RC, but then i followed the plot nad lost lucidity, which I couldn't forgive myself

I struggled with MILD, which turned out not to be that simple, so it discouraged me. Now I want to practice SAT, which I hope to transform into ADA after some practice.
I realised ADA is advantageous, because the dream itself becomes the dream sign. Above that I started to live the zen philosophy. The zen mindfullness fits perfetcly to ADA's assumptions, so I can kill two birds with one stone

I remembered a dream a day on average, but during last 2 weeks my dream memory suddenly decreased tremendously. I wake up with my head entirely empty, sometimes I have only some subtle impressions and nothing more comes to my mind even when I try to remember something. I don't know why it happens, nothing changed in my lifestyle recently, so I have to work on it and that's my first goal. Do you guys have any pieces of advise on how to manage in this situation?

Hope DVA will help me becoming lucid, I really want to master lucid dreaming. My strongest motivation is my interest in the possibilities of the human brain and mind. I really like to learn new things, develop my mental abilities and have fun doing it! Self-development (especially in terms of mind) is my passion and lucid dreams give me a great possibility to expand my mental horizons.

      Keep Lucid!

      Reality Checks:
      -Nose pinch
      -Looking at hands

      Short-Term Goals:

      -have an LD

      Long-Term Goals:
      -Have a full-fledged LD

      Lucid/Dream Recall History:
      - at least one per night

Hey Iggy, welcome to DV and intro class!

I remembered a dream a day on average, but during last 2 weeks my dream memory suddenly decreased tremendously. I wake up with my head entirely empty, sometimes I have only some subtle impressions and nothing more comes to my mind even when I try to remember something. Recall can vary and if you are sure that you haven't changed anything like food, sleeping times, etc. then it's probably just a fluctuation and nothing to worry about. If you want to jog your memory and already have a list of common dream signs, try going through them upon wake. "Did I possibly dream about this dream sign?". Some dream signs appear quite frequently so this practice can be very helpful. Also, you can repeat to yourself when going to bed that you are going to sleep and that you will wake up after each dream and that you will remember it. Or in short "I remember my dreams".

Thank You for a nice welcome

After a few days I can say something. I'm still struggling with my dream memory, but I find it getting better. Very often I have to get up right after waking up, so I don't have time to wrestle with my subconsciousness in order to extract at least some piece of a dream I had. Bu as I wake up after 5h of sleep (my alfa-alarm clock is working even if I don't do anything before sleep) I often remember my dream vividly, so I'm glad as for now.

Some days I don't remember any dream and some I wake up with up to 3 plots in my mind. I feel I still have to work on my memory, but now I can switch my main goal to lucidity.

I practice SAT/ADA and it's going quite well, but I think it's not sufficient for attaining lucidity. Which supportive technique would you recommend me?

The one supportive tech that I highly recommend if you can implement during some of your nights is wbtb. It makes a big difference as it helps you focus on having an ld just before you go back to sleep. As far as what tech to do during and after your wbtb - any tech can pretty much be applied, the most important part is to expect to have an ld and enter sleep with this mindset. You can also apply this thinking before you go to bed at night for more results.

I got to feel comfortable with ADA, I am aware throughout most of the day, so spotting a dream probably wouldn't be problematic IF ONLY I remembered my dreams
Not to be misunderstood, I wake up every day with at least one dream in my mind, the problem is I have to switch off the alarm clock and this is what kills my recall.
After I move to just slide a finger on the screen the whole story disappears. I am sure I had this dream in my mind ready to be written down, but after switching the alarm off I can't remember what it was and it gets me really frustrated as it has been so for at last 2 weeks.
I have to wake up at a given time, so there's no way to avoid alarm (maybe I could use alfa-alarm, but I can't rely on it because 10-minute delay would cause catastrophy).

Do you guys have any advice on how to wake up at a given moment and don't ruin the whole recall?

That seems to be quite of a problem with some members. What I would recommend is to try to find an alarm that is not so loud - maybe put phone on vibration or get it to autosnooze. The best way if you can set this up, would be to set the alarm for 10 mins before your final wake time (ideally on a not so disturbing quiet mode), and set the alarm to autosnooze with a ten min interval. That way, it will wake you up, you won't have to press it, and you will have 10 more minutes to stay in bed where you can calmly recollect your dream without needing to rush.
