Success on first official try!
I have been plagued by sleep paralysis for a while, usually happens several times a week.
Also I have been interested in lucid dreaming for a while, however assumed it was only a random thing that couldn't be controlled.
Then, one day a friend told me about a book he read that taught him how to do this, so he gave me a crash course and i learnt the Wake Back to Bed method.
Last night I took a bunch of B6 vitamins, drank a large cup of water, and waited until I was rather sleepy after watching Inception, which was amazing! and had resparked my interest in lucid dreaming. I drew a symbol on my hand and started my mantra. I feel asleep and then woke up at 4 AM, I of course had to go to the restroom and continued my attempt at lucid dreaming. I started the mantra and kept in mind to make Reality Checks.
This is when the weird noise started. As I was drifting off into the dream world, I was fully conscious and keeping in mind my goals. But at the same time this hissing noise in my ears grew louder and louder, almost to the point that i couldn't bear. It was only comparable to my eardrums exploding. And then somehow I fell asleep. In my dream I quickly realized I was dreaming when I saw my hand with no symbol.
And my expectations of lucid dreaming were blown out of the water, no movie could come close to visually depicting what I was experiencing during my dream. The wooden floors and their aged features were so life like, I could slowly drag my hand across it and feel each crevice and particles of dust. Overall it was completely worth the earth shattering drumming in my ears as I fell asleep.
By the way, does anyone know of what or why that sound happend?
