childhood dreams
Hello
I am new on this board and would eventually like to get back my ability to Lucid Dream, I say get back, because I remember as a child being able to Lucid dream quite naturally without effort, I stated losing this ability around the age of 9-10.
As adults why do some of us lose this ability and is it easy to get back?
Thanks and look forward to chatting more

hmm
I've heard that many children are "born" with the ability to lucid dream, so it doesn't surprise me that it came so naturally to you. I think that you lose that ability around when you hit puberty because the stresses of every day life take precedence over many childlike behaviors. My guess is to regain that ability, just do what dreamviews tells everyone to do, which is focus on your dreams and treat going to sleep like going on an adventure.

Your right, changing my view of sleep will be a good start.
Thanks for the reply

Welcome to DV!
My view on dreaming is that as one grows up, dreaming becomes less and less focused upon and as we know an unused talent becomes weak. If you were a natural (becoming lucid without working at it) it should be easier to take up LDing again, but it just depends on the person. If you have any questions about techniques feel free to ask. A lot of LDing is getting yourself into the right mind-set, but once you've done that it should be easier.
Sweet Lucid Dreams!
