I heard people use vibrate on their phone but how do you wake up to that?

I heard people use vibrate on their phone but how do you wake up to that?
I hold my phone in my hand when I go to sleep when I use vibrate. Lately, though, I've been trying to use my internal clock to wake up after some amount of time. It's not working great, but it's better than having to physically move to shut off an alarm.
