Im new, sorry if this is a very daft question

So lately I've been fascinated by the idea of Lucid Dreaming, and I've been trying anything and everything I can to try and get some going.
So far, I've been at the stage where I've had a fairly vivid dream, and then within the dream, realised I was dreaming. This has only happened around two or three times, but at the moment, it is not the frequency I'm worried about.

So far, each time I've realised in the dream that I was dreaming, I have immediately woken up, and unable to get back to sleep quickly.

Does anyone have any suggestions or tips, or just advice?

I'm realistic, I don't expect anything to work miracles, so any pointers would be very helpful

      Thanks

      Hello and
I'm not 100% sure but your problem is most likely control and stabalization over the dream. Do you wake up AS SOON as you find out it is a dream or does it go fuzzy and you feel it slipping away? If it doesn't instantly wake you up read this tutorial: http://www.dreamviews.com/f25/dream-...utorial-95034/
It will give you ways of trying to stabalize the dream and control it your own way.
      I hope this helps

The biggest thing is to relax. Once you realize you're dreaming, take a moment and just relax. Keep reminding yourself that you're dreaming. Another thing you can do is to rub your hands together or walk around or do something else to help you focus on how your dream body feels rather than your waking body. Keep reminding yourself that you're dreaming. If you wake up, do a reality check just to make sure and if it takes a little while to fall back asleep, just take things as they come A lot of people go through this and it just takes practice and persistence. You'll get it soon enough if you stick with it!

Also, when you wake up, don't move. As soon as you start moving you start leaving the world of the dream and start to forget. It's also a good thing to do when trying to recall dreams.

Lastly, welcome to DV! We're glad you here and let us know if there's any way we can help.

      Sweet lucid dreams!
