Hello people I'm Petermordio from germany! :)
I've been very curious about lucid dreaming for a long time now, but I only heard from friends or relatives who achieved them and never expected that there were techniques to become lucid.
Now yesterday I found some tutorials and this site so I wanted to get started with lucid dreaming immediately! :D
Started a dream journal and I'm practising reality checks now, I hope it won't be too long till I have my first LD.
Yesterday night I already tried to improve my possibilites to get a DILD by using a mantra as I went to bed.
I just repeated "I will notice that I dream" (in german) over and over again while clearing my mind.
Interestingly and totally unexpected instead of slowly falling asleep with that mantra I got into sleep paralysis. I never experienced a paralysis before and it was really scary, at first I thought I would get cramps (since I tend to have them at night in my legs) but when my whole body was affected I knew it had to be this paralysis I read so much about. I ignored all the itching and urges to move until I got really numb and then I started hearing weird noises. They were really strange and I've never heard anything like that. Also it felt like it would become even darker under my closed eyelids suddenly although that makes basically no sense. XD
Unfortunately at this point the urge to swallow that constantly grew for whatever was so hard that I swallowed and my paralysis released. I was really shaky and exhausted after that.
I got back to sleep again and got in another paralysis with my mantra. but it was lighter than the previous one and even after a long time I got no hallucinations or whatnot so I scrapped it and somewhen fell asleep.
I had some boring non-lucid dreams that night then, I managed to write down at least some informations of 4 of them in my new dream journal. I'm not even sure if they were 4 seperat dreams or less or if I was really fully asleep etc.
Well for now I'll try reality-checks and further improving my possibilities to have a DILD. I really hope I can have my first LD over the next weeks!
I also hope I can learn a lot from this great community here, so today I decided to join. =)
