lucid for 2 seconds
ok so last night i had a few dreams but i kept waking up and couldn't remember any thing about the dream, this morning i remember being in a hall way with one window it was all the way down at the other end, i walked up to it and then i was like hey, im dreaming, at that point i looked around and decided to open the window but as soon as i went to to it i just woke up.. i was really disappointed, i stayed calm and even did a reality check, is there any reason why i just woke up? :?

Oh that is just unlucky, haha. I can't say for sure what caused your premature wakening, but atleast I can say unequivocally that it can only get better from here, so congratulations on your first lucid!
Do you recall what was happening in the dream before hand? You may have been at the end of that particular dream cycle and woke up naturally, or perhaps it was actually a false awakening.
Unless it happens on your next successful lucid dreaming though, you probably don't have nothing to worry about. It sounds like you did everything right, so now it's just a case of rinse and repeat! Good luck :)

I had really short lucid dreams for a pretty long period... I pawn it off on getting too excited and the excitement would just wake me up. If you don't think you're getting overly excited... I would suggest the normal methods of stabilizing, try and remember to stare at your hands or just stop and soak it up... don't try to do anything, just observe and keep focused. I've been lucid dreaming for close to 2 years or so... and I'm only just now getting to a point where I feel like I'm gaining a bit of control. The best thing I did was slow down/calm and just made it my goal to stabilize. You'll get there... you have your entire life and fortunately sleeping makes up 30% of it. :)

I hope it was because of DRE (Dream Realization Excitement). Once you realize that you are dreaming, try to stabilize your dream before jumping into anything. Rub your hands, touch and feel the objects around you and proceed.
