Woke up immediately after seeing myself and tried to fly.. help?

it has been a while since i tried to lucid dream and last night i decided to try again. for about an hour before i went to bed i was researching induction techniques and the one that seemed most practical to me was DILD and WILD using eyelid patterns. that night i went to bed watching the patterns "on the back of my eyelid" and soon i found myself in my parents bedroom trying on a new pair of shoes. for some reason i felt that i had 4 legs and only 2 shoes! after a "while" trying to find my other 2 shoes i realized that it couldnt be reality, so i said to myself, i must be dreaming! sure enough i was back to having 2 legs and since ive always been fascinated by what it would be like to look into a mirror in a lucid dream, i walked to the bathroom and looked at myself. oddly enough my face was that of my little cousins, he is 9. the next thing i remember is trying to jump out of the window (maybe to fly) and waking up.. can anybody maybe interpret that, or tell me what i could have done to stay lucid?

Once you got the awareness that you are LDing, try the deepening and stabilization techniques. Few as follows,
1. Rub your hands
2. Touch your body
3. Touch and feel the every objects in your dream space in rapid movements,
4. Spin when you feel your dream is fading.
5. Watch the details of your arms.

any idea what that means as my first real lucid dream that i was aware of? i know its pretty vague but i'm very interested on the subject. if it helps the reason i think that i saw my cousins reflection in the mirror may be because i am on vacation with all of them and have been with them for the whole week so far.
