I'm marnie, and I'm new to the concept of lucid dreaming in general. Right now I'm just starting by recording my dreams in a journal and getting better at remembering them. Any tips for a newb?

First of all,
:welcome: to DV!
Yes, starting a dream journal is an excellent idea. Dream Journaling increase dream recall and vividness (or at least for me). Develop mantras, pay attention to your dreams to look for dream-signs (for example, mine is two moons in the sky), read the tutorials of this site, and you'll have a lucid in no time! (I got my first two 5 days after joining this site)
If you have any questions at all, do not hesitate to ask the members of this community. They'll be happy to assist you.
Welcome :welcome: =)
You have already made the first step for Lucid Dreaming, keeping a Dream Journal.
In regards to tips, there are countless ones. You may find it a little discouraging that not many people are going to reply to this threads with some tips, but that is because there are so many! There are more then a handful of different types of inductions, and with each induction there are more tips. - Your best bet is to just browse the forums. A nice place to start is in the tutorials section: dreamviews.com/f25/ .. From there, in the general discussion, or help related areas, you will find all your answers, and if you cant, simply ask. DreamViews has a nice community of friendly users who will always help you.
