since I'm very new to the community I've learned about the acronyms involved with lucid dreaming and I'm having trouble with one in particular. Basically, I'm asking what is WBTB? and should I be doing it to get a lucid dream? Thanks.

Welcome to Dreamviews. :welcome:
WBTB stands for "wake back to bed", it's not necessarily a lucid induction technique, but it can assist you in having LDs. It involves waking up in the middle of the night after five or six hours of sleep, and staying up until you're awake, but not too awake (you won't be able to get back to sleep, then!). It helps to wake your mind up in preparation for a lucid dream.
Some people do logic puzzles and simple math during this time, to wake the logical center of their brain up so they can detect when they're dreaming. Others log onto Dreamviews for a few minutes to record a dream they had earlier in the night, or read books about lucidity.
If you're going to WILD, stretching is good, too.
