I cannot be the only one here with this problem. I keep trying to remember dreams in the morning, but I can't tell what's a dream I had last night and what's a dream I had weeks ago. How do people manage all this extra information?

Maybe you don't put enough importance on the individual dreams? I sometimes have the problem of mixing up dreams i just had with dreams i've had earlier that night or that week...or dreams from 2 months ago with dreams 6 months ago, but never to that extreme really...
if you dont mind me asking, when you first wake up in the morning, how do you register the dream you just had (or if you just wait until you get up for the day and then reminisce about all of them)
Time and practice. As you keep working on your dream recall, you'll be able to made distinctions a bit more easily.
Make sure you don't wait to write down your dreams. If you need to lie still for a little while to go through what just happened, do so, but then grab your journal and put it down on paper. You'll probably also find that the more you write down, the more likely you'll be to think "Did I... no, that was yesterday... no, that was last week... yah, that happened." Then again, you might find things repeating themselves , so if you think something happened again it's possible.
If you think something might have happened in last night's dream, write it down even if you're a bit dubious. As long as you have records, you can go back and see if that happened in another dream. You wouldn't want to not put something down because you weren't sure. :)
I can't tell if it's a problem of too much to do in the mornings or an unorganized brain or a little of both. I tend to focus on remembering things as soon as I wake up, but not have the chance to record it for a couple hours.
It helps to keep a dream journal daily, that way you can compare dreams from last night with ones you had earlier, and keep track of recurring elements.
It might also help if you take a couple of jotnotes as soon as you wake up. Just keywords to help you recall which dreams are which. It doesn't have to be detailed or anything.Quote:
