New, first lucid dream, problems with lucidity
Hi, I'm new here, I just had my first lucid dream last night. ^_^ Actually, I think I had four or five dreams, but I can only remember two of them. I didn't try to induce them or anything, it just kinda happened. The first one, I was sitting in our computer room with my mom, and it was pitch-black out. I suddenly realized I didn't remember going to the computer room, so I thought I must be dreaming. Usually, when I realize I'm dreaming, and tell people, everything usually turns all screwy and evil, so I usually don't say anything. But then I remembered about lucid dreaming, so I asked my mom how we got to the computer room, and she just became part of the computer. I wanted to fly, so I opened the window and jumped out, (I was kinda hesitant, I have a big fear of heights) and I just sorta glided to the ground, and woke up. (Except now I think it was a fake-wake-up) The next dream I had, I ran out of the house, (I knew I was dreaming) and everything was a brilliant autumn color. I remeber walking down some non-existant street (It's name was Victorian Laude <yes, it's was probably my brain mistaking Lane> or Virginian Laude or something) and then to my normal parking lot. The sky was a beautiful pinkish-orangish-purple color, that contrasted wonderfully agianst all the bright leaves. I remeber everything being very vivid, probably because I was making sure to keep account of the dream. There was some Spanish dude in the driveway, (I think he was washing his car) and I said hi to him, because I wanted to "play along" a little bit, because I was afraid everything would screw up or I would lose lucidity. I ran up the road, feeling really excited, and I thought "Okay, when I get up this hill, there's going to be a dog," and sure enough, there was this big, shaggy, brown-gold Saint Bernard mutt-thing. I started to get more excited, and so I though, "Okay, when I get to the top of this hill, there's going to be a giant valley," but before I got to the top of the hill, I woke up. I had another dream about a sleepover or something, but it was vaguer and I don't think I was lucid in it. But this whole thing's been sticking in my mind all day, I actually can't wait to go to bed tonight. :D But does anyone know why things screw up when I act like people don't exist, or why I have trouble gaining contol? Thanks if you can help.
(I think this is the longest post I've ever made)

Your recall seems really good and control will come with time and practice. You could try touching things to reinforce the lucid dream environment.
