:banana:Hello, I have 3 things to say.
1st, I need someone to tell me why this isn't a hoax because theres a doubt in my mind that may be hindering my ability.
2. I'm not in my dreams half the time and if I did look at my hand wouldn't I think it looked normal because I was dreaming?
3. How do I change my profile picture? I have a picture on microsoft word that I want to put as my pic but it says "Invalid File." I tried making smaller too :(

I'm unsure what you're first question is asking. Are you asking if Lucid dreaming is hoax? I can assure you it is not, in fact it makes plenty of logical sense. People dream all the time, why shouldn't you be able to be conscious in them? However, a lot of people (especially many in this forum) try to tie it to astral projection and dream sharing. I can assure you that lucid dreaming has been completely proven, while the rest, is just plain laughable.
To answer your second question, yes, the hand trick often doesn't work. However, you're not suppose to just stare at your hand, you're suppose to be practicing awareness. Awareness is when you question whether or not your dreaming. If you practice this enough, it will seep into your subconsciousness and when you look at your hand in a dream while questioning reality you will see the oddities of your hand and, hopefully, realize you a dreaming.
