Haven't LD yet, just a question before I start

I have never lucid dreamed before or even tried to but I have dream journaled on and off for 4 years, since I was in eighth grade. I have heard spiritual people advise against it but I think that after trying it I should probably know whether it is right or not. I already feel significantly in tune with what my dreams are communicating.

However, a friend of mine, who made me think to try this, mentioned something about an experience that some people have where, in a lucid dream, they find a figure behind a door that tells them to go back to sleep. I would just like to see some articles, discussions, or your personal thoughts on this.

Sorry if my friend misinformed me. I tried doing google searches and searches here for threads on the subject but didn't know where to start with keywords.

I wouldn't doubt, I mean I've heard of people hearing voices tellling them they are dreaming, thus inducing LDs so I don't see why some people may see a guy who says the opposite.

I haven't ever heard of that, specifically. When lucid, you run into all sorts of bizarre characters. Talking to people in lucid dreams can be amazingly interesting.
