      Hello Dreamviews-Community

      Hello,
my name is Christopher and I am 18 years old.
I am generally interested in the mind of human, reading much of C. G. Jung about the unconscious right now, and researching about consciousness-expanding experiences.

About half a year ago I found out about this whole lucid dreaming thing, I remember a few lucid dreams from when I was a kid. One month ago I started a dream journal, but somehow I am getting lazy doing it.

Do you know the best method for a beginner to gain the ability to dream lucid?
I'm interested in all methods wich won't cut my sleeptime and can be done without disturbing others around, my problem is that right now i am doing military service and don't have a romm for myself to sleep. Only on weekends I have time at home, so the WILD method for naps is appealing too.

Until now, I couldn't really produce any results. I had a dream about me thinking I am lucid, but I wasn't lucid at all, And then there was a dream where I thought I was in sleep paralysis, but maybe I really was. I tried hard with autosuggestion, but with it I could only cause effect with things that hadn't to do with the dream iself, like "remember all your dreams" or "wake up after every dream". But things like "Dream about the beach" never work.

Could you tell me about your first experiences with lucid dreaming and how long it took you to actively induce one? At the end of this year I am done with military service, and then I will have much freetime to practice. I hope that I could get a faint gist of the trick until then.

      Thanks in advance, Christopher

well my first lucid was one month after I started I kept a DJ everyday and I was already a very active dreamer. Whenever I wake up early I stay up a little posting on hear, reading my dream journal, and read about lucid dreaming. I then lay down and go back to bed thinking about lucid dreaming. This finally worked, I noticed something weird in my dream so i tryed a reality check and sure enough it worked so I became lucid. This is a very easy method that requires little work or time but it is far from the most effective method. Just try to pay attention to stuff in your dream journal that tell you its a dream(dreams signs)

Welcome to DV! Also, lets see, there is no method easier than the other, though if you don't have much time, you could try MILD/DILD during weekdays and WILD when napping, then see which one works better for you.
My first induced was after 8 years of practice, but don't worry, nearly nobody takes that long!

For a LD, which would be also a WILD, since my first induced LD was a WILD.

Hey guys, I am back after a week of work, and surprisingly, after a long night of reading about lucid dreams and posting here, the next morning I had one DILD and after this a WILD while oversleeping. I am pretty amazed that it worked out, although it was only a very low level of being lucid. At the DILD I realized that I was dreaming, noticed that I will wake up und started to spin and feel the ground, but it didn't help for long. At the WILD, I had just one lucid idea, did what I wanted and then I wasn't lucid anymore. Both dreams were pretty short, and my levle of control is still nagging me. Do you have some tipps to stabilize the dream and how to get more control/ lucidity in the dream?

I still can't believe it. But my Dream Journal says so...

as soon as your lucid stay calm, try to look around you, pick something up, look listen pay attention and remind your self its a dream.

Grats on your first LD! And Walms, I had no idea it took you 8 years! Oh well, it was worth it, right, since you're lucid every night, now

SaiC, my favourite stabilizing method is one I call "sense activation." When I become lucid, I stop and I turn on all my senses. This includes touching an object, smelling the air, hearing for ambient noises and then taking a good look at the scenery and detail my brain has created for me. Usually immersing yourself in the dream will help prolong it a bit longer.

If you find the dream still decides to fade out, try to relax in bed and imagine yourself back in the dream you just became lucid in. Sometimes, the dream will reform back around you!
