hello everybody!
So uh, how's it going? I just joined, but I've lurked around these forums occasionally for ~6 months w/o registering (sad, right :cheeky:). I have had like 20% effort to lucid dream for a while, but never been consistent enough to make any progress. Now though, I want that to change. I have started to keep a dream journal, and am conditioning myself to do RC's and all that fun stuff.
Also, I have one question for a kind soul who wishes to answer. A few weeks back, I had honestly the strangest experience in a dream I've ever had. Basically, (don't remember what happened before this) I was in my kitchen and was all excited because I realized I was in a dream. You could say, hey, a lucid. The strange part was that it wasn't a lucid. I told myself I was dreaming, but I wasn't actually lucid (this sounds really weird, I know.) Also, in my (fake) excitement I ran outside onto my deck and jumped up in the air trying to fly, but nothing happened. My dream body then sadly realized I wasn't dreaming (even though I was) and I got embarrassed because my dad was watching me hop up and down on the deck.
Anyways, the question is what in the hell happened in that dream? Thanks in advance, and I'm glad to be a part of Dreamviews!

Oh, you had a dream about lucidity, is all. Thats why I recomend for people not to actually say out loud they are lucid, but just to think it, because then it becomes frustrating when you get those dreams and don't know what was it.
And welcome!

Thanks, and I will try to think, not say it. Because it was really weird.

Hey, welcome to DV! I'm glad you finally made an account :)
Yeah, like Walms said, it sounds like you had a dream about being lucid... which is a good step in the right direction! Have you been doing reality checks?
:) Good luck, and again, welcome!

Thanks Cacophony! And yes, I am spontaneously doing reality checks, trying not to make them a habit and really analyzing my environment.

Hello and welcome! :)
I've actually had a few dreams similar to that. In one dream I actually remembered that I had been keeping a dream journal. Then I had 2 separate dreams about being lectured on lucid dreams. But I still didn't connect the dots and when I woke up from that I was like "Dammit! So close!"
