Recognizing SP [Help]
Hi all, I have been trying to induce SP using a very popular guide by Jeff777.
I am having trouble recognizing when I am actually under SP, I lay in bed for at least 20 minutes, completely still, keeping a clear mind, eyes closed, but I fail to feel any pressure, see any shapes, or hear anything. Will I know exactly when I induce SP?

Sometimes it can be hard to recognize SP. Usually when I enter it, I feel light vibrations and then hear noises and stuff. Most people experience either sounds, movement, a presence in the room, rapid acceleration, or vibrations. Numbness can also signal SP, but it may also just be from the fact that you haven't moved in a while.

There are a few signs of SP, just look for those. There are vibrations, spinning, noise. Look for these signs and the ones Puffin listed.

I've gotten into sp 3 times now. The first time I heard people screaming at me from outside my door. Yesterday morning I felt rapid acceleration of me going forward and sideways, and this morning I felt the vibrations. I got excited in all of them so I didn't get too far haha.

Don't worry. It is not a feeling you are likely to miss. If you get sleep paralysis, you will certainly know it! If you are trying to induce it, there is a lot more to it than just lying still for 20 minutes. Make sure you are timing your attempt correctly. Also, you will need some sort of meditation or mental exercise. The goal is to let yourself fall asleep, while holding on to a bit of your awareness.

During my first SP attempts I was quite excited. I was waiting for something to happen, and this obviously kept me awake longer then usual.
I lay in bed for a long time and nothing happened.
I found it much easier to get into SP when I'm very tired, however it is also quite a bit harder to hold onto your awareness if you are that tired.
Remember that one of your goals is to fall asleep, if you're too excited this will be very hard.
If you experience your first SP's even remotely similar to mine, you will definitely notice though, I wouldn't worry about that.
