Hello DV! :D
I am new to lucid dreaming and I am very excited on getting my first LD.
And I have wondered to myself, how long can a LD take (In Dream Time)?
I've read people having dreams that last two weeks, a few months or even a hundred years. The longest dream I've had was about two hours long, but I woke up in the middle so I think it was two rem phases.
:welcome:
I heard that a man called Robert Monroe had a lucid dream that lasted 100 years.
Hello. Welcome.
A dream can last like 1:30 hours or so, but how you perceive it is what will matter. People say about time dilatation techniques, some can dream for hours, other said that the dream felt like days.
But can I wake up from a dream with my own will?
Yes. But you can get caught in false awakenings.
What is a false awakening?
A false awakening where you think you wake up and would go and do normal things, but you are still dreaming.
I wonder if that guy became old in the dream and when he finally woke up, he forgot about what was happening in real life.
Hmm, there could be the possibly of it, if he was able to remember day to day events, or at least weeks, or if he just knew that it felt like 100 years and didn't actually remember it.
Its a matter of how long it felt. there is no time in dreams. in fact im 50% sure what feels like an hour long dream could in actuality only have lasted 10-20mins real time. its all relative when your asleep.
ive never tried Time dilatation techniques but i guess anythings possible :P
