Forum noob here
Hi all,
I have been trying out lucid dreaming for a number of months now (ever since seeing inception) and have had some degree of sucess. Unfortunately, I have recently run into a problem where I start to realise the moment when I am about to go to sleep (if that makes sense) and I instinctively have a muscle spasm which pulls me back into full consciousness.
This is having a negative impact on both dreaming and waking life. I have checked online for tips on sleeping but none of them are very helpful. If anyone has advice on how to go around this, or any tips that would make falling asleep easier it would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

I've never heard of such a thing, odd, has this only been happening recently or since you have started attempting to lucid dream?

This has been happening ever since I've tried to control my thoughts while going to sleep. So yeah, recently.

Try to position and imagine yourself as relaxed as possible, I'm assuming the muscle spasms are a sign that your muscles are uncomfortable which can be a nuisance while attempting to LD. Are you comfortable when you are falling asleep?
