Improving Visualisation
Hey guys!
I've been having problems with visualisation and daydreaming for as long as I remember. Thinking of images, sound, feel, etc is very difficult for me and I have no idea why. I know some techniques require visualization so this is why I'm posting this.
How can I explain this... When I try to see with my third eye, the image is always basic and definitely not vivid. If I try to think of how someone looks, I do have an image but the bulk of the thought are "facts" rather than visual (Blond hair, yay high, wears blue jeans, square jaw, etc).. I'm not sure my explanation is clear... I "Know" what the person looks like instead of "Seeing" what he looks like.
If I try to think of a table, I can see a table, yes, but no details... a generic table template kind of thing.
It's the same thing with all my senses...
Can anyone give me tricks to improve visualization? Help make it more detailed and vivid? I REALLY want to be able to use Visualization oriented technique.

Hi!

Cacophony's super sweet visualization technique that someone else thought of first:
I've always used the same visualization technique. Stare at an object. An apple. A disco ball. That wrapper that's been sitting on your desk for two weeks. Now, stare at it. For five minutes. Get a good look at the thing. KNOW the thing. Close your eyes for five minutes, concentrating on the object you have been staring at. Repeat. Repeat until you can see it when you close your eyes.
Good luck comrade!

I'll try that when I have the time :) Thanks
Any other ideas guys?

So I have a few ideas for you, some may not be your thing but here goes:
1.) Drugs. Specifically psychedelics. LSD, psilocybin, DMT, 2C-b to name a few
2.) Teach yourself to draw. Stare at things and then replicate them. The more you replicate them, the more they are stuck in your head.
3.) Began doing things like meditation or learn to "take in" your surroundings more, such as looking at the things in your environment and applying your various senses to them.
4.) In an LD create a drug or pill that you say will improve your visualization, or find another way to do something like that to your subconscious.
5.) Neave Imagination - Play with beautiful wobbly lines <------ The creator of the website says this improves imagination/visualization
