First Lucid Dream
Let me start by introducing myself! My name is Miranda and I have just recently been researching and starting to practice lucid dreaming. My sister had explained this all to me years ago and just lately it has sparked my interest again. The first time I got so discouraged because I was not able to move forward in learning how to lucid dream. I have started a dream journal but I find that I don't need one and I can still remember my dreams weeks down the road.. I have always had very vivid dreams and have always been able to explain my dream in specific details - colors, textures, etc.
The other night I had my regular super vivid dreams and around 5am I woke up and about 5 minutes later decided I would try to WILD.. I had been looking this up and was not sure exactly how you do it.. But I went to bed telling myself I was going into a dream and about 5 minutes later I was in the dream.. Took me a few seconds to clue in that it was a dream and in my dream had said that I was dreaming. I automatically woke up after I had said it aloud that I was in my dream... Weird, but I think I might be able to do this!
I said before I had read up on WILD but still didn't quite understand it.. Would anyone be able to explain to me how you are supposed to do this?

WILD stands for Wake Induced Lucid Dream. Your answer is in its name. lol. A form of WILD is doing exactly what you did. Waking up, and Going back to sleep and dreaming. This is probably one of the best methods for not-so-experienced individuals: It was a good method, along with DILD in my opinion.
