What is a dream guide?

I've heard references to dream guides but don't know what that is? Is it a part of our subconscious that takes on a dream character and guides us to something?

I keep dreaming of my ex-husband, like we're still married, but really happy. In waking life I'm really happy not married! It's so bizzare. Can a dream guide help me understanding why I'm having these dreams or what they mean?

Dream Guides are Dream Characters that represent your subconscious and knowledge directly. Your Dream Guide (DG) can help you to discover new tactics in Lucid Dreaming, and they can help you to find out what your dreams mean. They can take any form--human or not--and each person's is different. If you want to find yours, just ask for them in your next LD, and eventually you'll find him/her.

Also, on the site, there's a rank of Dream Guide for moderators, but that was derived from the actual DG's in dreams.
