How can you confirm if a dream was actually a dream?

Last night I had a dream I think I dreamt that I pulled and slice of multi-grain bread out of the cupboard. I looked at it and put it back.

I told my mum about it and she said there was a single slice in the cupboard in exactly the same place as in the dream about a week ago. I may have pulled it out, I dont know.

Does anyone know if there is a way to test if something was a dream or not?

While in dream you can perform a reality check. For example pinch your nose and try to breath through it. If you can breath, it's dream.

Anyway, if you're awake and try to figure out if you had a dream you could try memorizing how you came in that situation in your so-called dream. If you can remember the events that led to the situation, it most likely wasn't a dream whereas if you don't really remember them, you propably dreamed.
Don't think about those damn kangaroos.

I guess you are right. I don't really remember anything before it. I just magically appeared in front of a pantry cupboard.

      dream or reality

Since our brains actually believe what is taking place in a dream to be reality at the time, it is no wonder that on occasions that our sense of reality gets lost form time to time.
And when you could not correspond with an outside referance, your mom in this case, it can become more vague. Along with that it was a trivial event. For if you were flying out a window there would not be much question.
Then the more you think about the situation the more factual it a may become.
No wonder none of us no wether we are in a dream or in reality.

i have to say i think that theres no diffrence in your dream memory or your reality memorys excpet for where and if or not they really took place but those things are all such minute importants to the significant fact that whatever it was happened.... and should be remebered.... i dont know where i was going after"i have to say" yea had it alll planned out up until then was gunna make millions but then old ass gran-pa-fat'cion came rolling into the context and fucks it up as usual... i quit.
