Was this Hypnagogia?
okay, today something weird happened..:panic: I woke at night and then tried to remember my dreams, i rolled over to my back and my eyes were closed. After sometime i started hearing noises, sounds, and people talking. I remember hearing "If i can't do it, how can he?" and "He's almost there!". After that i saw this very bright light in the middle of my vision. I've never seen anything like that really. It got closer and bigger but i got too excited and tried to see it directly but it went away and i lost focus then woke up.. Was this the hypnagogic state? How can i stay calm and most importantly.. How close was i to a dream?? Anyone else ever had this "white light"? a nooby needs answers people!:P

Welcome to the forums! Hypnagogic is usually in the form of imagery (colors, swirls, dots, flashes of light, actual objects), what you experienced was sleep paralysis (sounds, imagery, sensations). The light you saw was the dream beginning to form around you so you were literally seconds away from having a dream.

don't those two usually go together though? If this sp, how was i able to move after? I thought the body becomes paralyzed for a few minutes. Thanks for your reply :P

well actually lots of people can still move in sleep paralysis as far as i know everyone can! but i may be wrong...
as long as you are willing your physical body to move it will most likely move ;)
when in SP once dreams and whatnot come if you take notice of it you can actually see that your dream body is moving and your physical staying still unless your focusing to hard on moving then your physical body may move a little like twitch and whatnot :P

okay good, thanks! I just looked up the hypnagogic hallucinations tutorial and i read the memory footprints part. I had had many of those too, but i just couldn't explain it. :P
