Questioning reality?
I have been trying to get lucid for a little over a week and been reading a lot about lucid dreams and all that is under this subject. Anywho.
By questioning ''is this real or a dream'' in your walking life - does this eventually follow you into your dreams and thereby makes you realize ''yeah im dreaming'' ?
Chappy ho!

I suppose by "walking life" you mean "waking life". Yeah, kinda.
By doing reality checks over the day, you improve your awareness and this helps to notice if you are dreaming or not.
And yeah, there's a possibility that you dream about doing RC randomly and therefore become lucid, but it's mainly awareness. :P

yeah i ment 'waking life' :P But thanks. Is there any good tips/tricks to increase your awareness?:P
-
Well there is loads of stuff like reality checks and meditation for example.
Btw, important thing: when you do reality checks, do remember to REALLY question whether you're dreaming or not. Look around for dream signs, see if anything is out of place. (Dream sign = recurring theme, person, item etc. in your dreams.)

oh i am doing that already. Like.. random times every day i stop what im doing and like.. look around. do a few reality checks and observe if this 'is a dream or not'. Thats a good help to get lucid - amirite?
-
Yep. I hear the optimal amount is about 15 RCs a day, but it varies.
-
Yes constantly questioning reality does follow you over into sleeping, but also writing in your dream journal every morning will allow your mind to merge the the 2 worlds and allow you to have more waking awareness in your dreams...
-
Yeah, awareness isn't exactly as much of a "habit" as RCs - when you're aware and it gets into your dream, you'll become aware, whereas RCs will get into your dream but you'll just go over them and ignore whatever happens. Questioning reality is a key aspect of the DILD technique. There's a bunch of tips on how to be truly skeptical and aware in my DILD guide, if you're interested.
