Reality Check Help
So for over a month Ive kept a dream journal, Ive had a couple small successes with ld, but i want to increase it. Since keeping a dream journal, my dream recall has increased so much, compared to where I use to write dreams that were a quarter of a page, now, they take a page and a half, even if I forget some parts, they come back to me when Im writing, but I need help with reality checks, I do a few during the day, liek checking my hands and looking in a mirror, but I was wondering if anyone had more, and from an expert LDer, how often they do it during the day, Ive also noticed some recuuring things in my past few dreams, ex. interacting with far away family, talking to characters from tv shows, but its the same people, would this be a dream sign?

I am new at this but I read from a guy that he uses a few things to make him do reality checks. When he is driving, every time he sees a red car, a pedestrian, and some other stuff he does a reality check. He basically said to do a reality check every time you see something that you pick that's common and that way in your dream whenever you see these things, you do a reality check. Just think how often you could LD if you did a reality check every time you saw a person. This method hasn't worked for me because in my dreams I can never remember and even while I am awake I never remember to do my reality checks every time. I do them as often as I can think about it and it has helped me. I went from 0-4 LDs in about a month

thanks :) today walking i was trying to be aware of my surroundings, also do you say any chantrs or mantras before you go to bed?

Welcome, I only perform one reality check (plugging my nose). I perform a reality check about three times a day, I find from personal experience that performing to many reality checks can be harmful.

Why would doing reality checks often be harmful ? Does it become so confusing the barrier between reality and lucidity once you start LDing ?
