i've been going at it for about a month now, still had nothing close to a lucid dream...i keep forgetting to do reality checks in my dream.
how long did it take you guys to lucid dream? i know it's easier/harder for some people but waiting for it sucks. :(
I'm now trying it for 10 month's (Ofcourse with pauses like 5 month's or something)
I did some reality checks in my dream but I dont recognize it's a dream..
Also I dreamed that I had a lucid dream, lol.
Don't worry u will get a lucid dream for 100%!
And you need to believe that you will get a lucid dream.
Try different methods..
I only tried DILD no succes so I gonna try WBTB and WILD in vacation (1 week left :D)
I was trying to LD since two months but had no success...
2 days ago , i did the WBTB technique (not intentionally to have a lucid dream, i just due to some reason woke up and then went to sleep again) , and had a lucid dream which lasted for only a couple seconds but it felt great.
Dont lose hope, you'll have a lucid dream soon.
I've been trying to have lucid dreams for about 7 months almost continuously, and it has resulted me 5 really short lucid dreams. The first one I had after 1-2 months from starting, so I bet you are close to your first one.

And BTW, usually you dont become lucid in your dreams by doing a reality check in it, usually you realise somehow you are dreaming, and confirm it by doing a reality check. Atleast this is what I've experienced.
Sometimes it takes one night, but more often it takes a few months. Do more and more RCs. A pretty good way to be sure that you do a lot of them is to take a marker, and write RC on your wrist, do one whenever you see it. Should be hundreds of times, so it should carry over to your dream.
I am a natural, and have had them all my life, and in recent years i have about 1-3 a week. There is a good load of material on this website, but basically it comes down to being able to recognize you are dreaming. This is why you need to work on dreamrecall, because the more dreams you remember, the more the chance you recognize you are dreaming. And keeping a dreamjournal is not enough. You have to read it regularly, and when you do you will have to try to visualize the dream and replay it in your head. I do not have to keep a journal because my memory of dreams is very good, and i like to think about them. If your dreamrecall is not so good experiencing LD's is tougher and might take a while to get there.
Morst important: If you get frustated you are doing it wrong. Work on dreamrecall, write in your dreamjournal. Visualize and replay your dreams. Work steady on this goal. If you can remember about 2 to 3 dreams a night in good detail, LD's will slowly pop up.

Do the checks often, implement the habits you need to, and stay positive, but don't let Lucid Dreaming run your life. Have you ever done a jigsaw puzzle or worked on learning any new skill?
Sometimes, you have to ease up on it a little bit or even take a couple nights off of thinking about it for best results.
