Hello, I am new, my first LD was this morning.

Hello, I am new, my first LD was this morning.

I had some beer last night, went to bed about 12 was a little restless, I was also very tired. I set my alarm for 9:30am. I woke up then, I went back to sleep. I had many dreams in the morning.

But one of my last was very weird. I was flying a fighter jet and in pursuit of another jet like mine. Except it didn't handle like a jet, it handled like hand glider and a rollercoaster, we were flying up and down over obstacles like overhead motor temporary speedlimit signs, my feet were sticking out of the bottom and clipped this sign. This caused my jet/handglider machine to fly towards the ground. I managed to 'pull up', stalling the machine a few feet above the ground: pitched up into the air as if for take off. I let go and was still travelling forwards so ran a few yards on foot to slow down.

There were people lined on the bank of a calm sea. I spotted this really hot girl, and then I realised I was dreaming. She was blonde, not skinny, nice figure, maybe early twenties late teens, she had the nicest plump lips. I was about to start speaking to her and realised I should try and have sex with her. So I told myself 'Have sex with her now, you are dreaming ', but to my annoyance she wouldn't initially, only seconds later I was making out with her as she smiled at me! Which was nice, but seen as I am a virgin [18] I couldn't imagine sex with her or whatever and then I woke up. Strange dream. So I think this is a WILD?

      Feedback please. Tar.

Sounds to me like a DILD, because you realised that you were dreaming when you were already in the dream.
In a WILD you will know that you are dreaming from the beginning of the dream, so you would've already known when you were flying in the jet.

Sounds like an awesome dream though.

      Hello Tar,

The flying machine in your dream is a vessel, it's a sign of steady satisfactory progress in your future endeavors.

It is interesting that you realized you were dreaming when you were at the beach. It symbolizes a "meeting" between your states of mind. The sand can represent the rational/mental processes while the water will represent irrational/emotional aspects of yourself. The beach is a place of transition between physical/material and the spiritual.

The mention of noticing her lips signifies sensuality, sex, love and romance and a means of communication. (Seems obvious, yes)

As a guy at your age, it is definitely not uncommon to have these associated dreams. I think all in all this is just a symbol of what your mind and body desire in your waking life, also if there is something not being fulfilled in your waking life, our minds are more apt to play out what they need in the safe environment of our dreams.

      Hello WaspNestEscape,

As Ladusense said, you experienced a DILD. You became lucid after the dream had already started.

Going for sex in a LD is great, but you might consider developing some LD skills first. There will be plenty of sex to be had later. If you spend a minute or 2 just checking out your dream environment, thinking about the fact you are dreaming, you will still be greatly entertained. In fact, it can be mind blowing. This will give you confidence which will be very helpful in having all that great LD sex you desire.

      Good luck!

      Hello Mental,

      Thank you for your suggestion.

I have had a passive interest in my dreams and lucid dreaming for a while. I think like alot of people here that writing down your dreams is a powerful tool to consolidate some of my deepest thoughts about myself and well-being. I have a kept dream journals in the past and have begun to do so in the light of this latest LD. I have often had morning LDs when I wake up before I lie in then sleep, often till as late as 12:00. These dreams seem to be the most vivid for some reason.

What are your thoughts on the most enjoyable practices which might aid my LDs?

      Thankyou in advance,

      WNE

      Your welcome WaspNestEscape,

Since I'm new here it is nice to have my opinion appreciated. What are my thoughts on enjoyable practices? Well I'd say its fun to actually write down any and every LD goal you have. This could be fun and productive. I've got some goals of mine I wrote down in college 25 years ago! This would also be a good idea just to crystalize what it is YOU find interesting and fun. For example, I have many hedonistic goals I wish to go for first. But I also have some non-hedonistic goals. So all together I have goals AND a rough sequence of when I intend to achieve them. Over-riding all of these is my long-term goal of being able to LD any time I set my mind on it.

Here's another idea you might find fun. It's time consuming though so you may or may not agree. If you do agree and succeed with it, you will treasure the success because of your effort investment. Here it is:

Plot and incubate a desired LD. Make it EPIC and think of it as a movie that you are producing to be the end all, be all blockbuster movie of all time. The more detail the better. Also, the more activity you put into it the better. For example, I plotted and incubated my first LD. My intention was to get out of bed from my dream, go to the sliding glass door on my dorm room and fly out of the 7th floor room over the adjacent river that ran thru downtown Tampa, Florida. To prepare for this intense visual, I went to the highest building across the river, went to the top floor, and took a panoramic series of pictures of my dorm and the river as it went out to Tampa Bay. I then got hard copies made of the pictures and taped them together as a collage. (this was 1986.) I stared at that collage and visualized my flight out of my dorm room. It's no surprise that when I succeeded the first time the LD ended because of extreme excitement! The view and experience just blew my mind! So my efforts worked and I cherish the memories to this day. My second and third LD's built on the same incubated dream goal.

So as you can see, this takes an investment in time and effort. If you don't wish to do this, I understand. But if you do, it is a well accepted strategy. If you do, it helps with induction because of course you are immersing your conscious thoughts on a single topic. This topic will hopefully spill over into your subconscious dream thoughts. You would then set a goal of recognizing features of the plot as a dream sign to realize your situation and become lucid. When that happens, you will be challenged to not get too excited as I did. Because it will be like receiving your own personalized Disneyland/Fantasy Island.
