Vyanse and LD or WILD
For the past 5 or 6 months I have been on an ADD stimulant drug called Vyvanse. Since learning about LDing (4 days ago) I've been recalling 3-4 dreams a night. Before this, I had not recalled a dream since I started treatment. Honestly, I don't think i was dreaming at all during this period. I felt groggy all the time, my muscles were getting stiff, my skin was pale, and I looked generally unhealthy. These past four days have been amazing, I feel great, color has returned to my skin, and I feel myself climbing out of my depression. I bought an Binaural beat app with a lucid dream track for my ipod touch and i usually listen to the track (16 mins long) two or three times, but I can't seem to sleep with headphones on, but it seems to have helped none the less. My question is, these dreams have been extremely vivid, and I can recall more details then ever, but I can't seem to become lucid. The contents of the dreams are often extremely unrealistic, but as soon as I realize how impossible the things in the dream are, I wake up. How can i stop this from happening? or should I work on WILD's instead? I've read that stimulants may help when attempting WILDS.

Welcome cp,
If you are realizing your situation but waking up, you are 99% there. The next time you realize it, commit to not becoming too excited. Read up on all the tricks for prolonging lucidity and try to maintain your conscious state the next opportunity you have. The basic challenge once lucid, is to not get too excited or, on the other hand, too relaxed. Too much excitement results in you waking up. Too little focus results in the dream slipping back into normal mode. Hope that helps!

Glad to hear you are doing better and Welcome to DreamViews! Any excess of emotion can kick you from the dream. Mental has nailed it...you just need to stay relaxed and calm. If you think you may possibly be dreaming just stop whatever it is you are doing , take a few deep breathes to calm yourself and perform a reality check. I suggest the nose pinch reality check. Close off the air passage in your nose by pinching it tightly shut, then attempt to breathe through your nose alone. In real life this is obviously impossible, but in the dream state you can still breathe through it. I would also suggest keeping a DJ (dream journal). Since your dreams are becoming more vivid, you should write them down in a notebook as soon as you wake in the morning. This will not only help you decipher dream signs and help build recall, but the idea of keeping a dream journal can spark a few lucids on its own. I have had several instances where I was in a normal dream and thought, "I have to remember to write this in my Dream Journal." I then, of course, became lucid. Well, good luck to you and if you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask!
PS: Practice DILD at all times, but I would definitely give WILD a shot. Always experiment with different things concerning lucid dreaming. This way, you will find what works best for you. Good luck to you!
