dairy, diet and dreaming

ok so ive read b6 and b12 help with recall.
Now ive read up about dairy having a significant difference on recall and just so happens i had some milk and yoghurt about an hour before i went to bed last night and recalled 4 times in the same night, does dairy really help with recall?

unfortunately im a noob so need to practice my reality checks more, meeting arnold schwarzenegger obviously wasnt enough to seem strange :/

Any other dietry intakes help with making dreams more vivid and easier to recall?

Dream journal does help a lot. There are some people who don't keep it, but in the beginning it seems to be a requirement. Write down everything you remember - feelings and thoughts included.

I'm not sure about dairy helping with dreams. I myself am on a strict vegan diet which I've started a thread about it a while back on how being vegan helps with vividness and makes you more aware of your surroundings which I still find to be very true. Vitamins do play a big role in lucid dreaming, but you also need to be eating healthy, drinking plenty of water etc and getting enough exercise in the process. So for me, eating no dairy at all actually helps me more in obtaining greater lucids. -Chase

Can you, please, give the link to that thread, I'm trying to gather all the information about that now :)

yeah i used to have a dream diary but scrapped it and started fresh which ill be keeping by my bed and everything now haha so we shall see, i go to the gym a lot and i do have a really healthy diet and im natrually a calm person i guess now it's down to technique. going to still eat some cheese before i go to bed i think though ;) just for luck

If dairy helps with dream recall, it's probably because of it's nutrients. I recommended obtaining them elsewhere. ;P I had no idea Veganism may increase dream recall like Chase said. No wonder I remember so many dreams! :D Anyway, there's A LOT of supposed dreaming aids. A quick google search can tell you that! Keeping a dream journal, jogging your memory upon waking, having a consistent sleeping schedule, and proper diet seems to work all the well.

Ahaha, I just realized that I misunderstood word "dairy", I thought OP was talking about diary or DJ. Stupid me X)

Well after doing research dairy is found down the list of B vitamin foods, along with other things vegans would eat such as asparagus and broccoli and nuts etc.

Yes. Soy also gives all the main vitamins that one needs in their daily diet. We also still get B12 in our diet which is also found in cereal and other foods. I recently found tea helps a lot with awareness. I drank one cup of this "sweet dreams" herbal blend and had a lucid dream that same night. It put me in a very sleepy like state of mind. -Chase

Rooibos tea if you can find it. Red tea is amazing! Really calms your body and allows you to be well relaxed for a perfect night's sleep. -Chase

I eat very little dairy - So I wouldn't attribute that to dream recall. For me, it's all about the dream journal. I record my nightly dreams with a voice recorder and then write them in a MS Word document in the morning. After a few years of doing this I can consistently remember 2-8 dreams per night.

People on here swear by peanut butter for more vivid dreams. I'm not so sure about that one, I think the placebo effect is a contributing factor.

I think this is 90% placebo effect. But, then again, 90% of LDing is placebo effect in my opinion. The most important thing to do is to remain confident and strong in your intentions to have a lucid dream. It's mental effort, and whatever you use to give you that confidence will work.

However, you can't let PB turn into a crutch. If you start slacking off and using PB as a crutch you'll lose confidence in its power to give you vivid dreams and will probably need to find something new to keep you focused.

Affirmations before bed are probably the most useful in channeling intention.

Somewhat off-topic, but:
I just bought an ounce of Calea Z. as I thought I would try using it to remember some dreams. You think if I tried smoking it I would be any better off than drinking it? I've got a pretty high tolerance for bitter tastes, and the only thing I really can't handle are certain textures. I've decided I won't try any of it until after my drug test, never know what might happen. The last thing I want to do is miss out on a real job opportunity because of something as silly as Calea Z.

I don't know if you tried smoking it, but would you say a cigarette rolled with calea could easily be mistaken for pot? I can't smoke indoors, and the only place I would be smoking are relatively public. I don't want anybody walking by and thinking to call the campus police. I planned on asking my dorm area's police liaison officer about it anyway.

It won't show up on a drug test. Drug tests test for specific mainstream drugs, such as pot and opiates. It looks and smells nothing like pot... at least to someone who doesn't think every green herb is pot. The taste is pretty bad - thinking about it a few years later still gives me chills. It's hard to get down. I recommend making the tea sometime in the middle of the night, and then going back to bed. Steep a handful of the leaves in boiled water for 15 minutes and then remove the leaves with a stainer. The two times I did this I had very vivid graphic dream... I felt like I was being pushed towards lucidity. I had little success smoking it. It does not burn good and is too fluffy. If there is an active chemical in Calea Z which helps with dreams in some way, you are going to get a lot more of it in your system by making a tea anyway.

Thanks cosmo, I won't try smoking it I guess. I've never smoked anything before in my life anyway. Good to hear somewhat of a success story, nobody seems to post about calea unless it didn't work for them.
