Awareness Boost
How many different ways are there for me to boost my awareness? I have dreams every night and they are sometimes quite ridiculous. I just watch dream after dream go by without realizing anything. Also, I have this feeling way in the back of my head that Lucid Dreaming is actually a difficult thing to achieve. Is there any way that I can convince myself otherwise? Thanks for your help.

I think you should try mantras or power of suggestion. Your subconscious can accept many irrational thoughts. You can reach your subconscious easier through relaxation. I think this technique is self-hypnosis? Relax using meditation and/or binaural beats, whatever works best, just reach a deep level of relaxation. Repeat an affirmation to yourself out loud. Repetition is key! I've used this method to help me with my fears and it works great. Also, use mantras during reality checks. I've found that asking myself out loud "Am I dreaming?" during a reality check causes me to be consistently aware of my surroundings. Best of luck!

It is common to worry/think about the difficulty of LDing when you are starting out. Just try to stay confident at all times. Try to fall asleep knowing that you will have a lucid dream. Once you get a few under your belt, it will become easier and easier for you. Even if you have great recall, I still suggest keeping a dream journal and performing RCs during waking life. Both of these can help boost awareness in more ways than one. Make sure you aren't just going through the motions with RCs. Take a few moments to look around at the environment and as yourself, "Am I dreaming right now?" Imagine that everything around you is a dream and then perform your RC. Just keep practicing and working at it! Good luck to you!
