Hey everyone
My name is Morten and I'm 18. I found this website after I had seen Inception, did a quick google search and this was one of the first sites. Dreams have always fascinated me and I have always tried to use them constructive in my real life. I have always seen dreaming as one of the high points of my day. Sometimes people think it's strange, but whatever... I thinks it's wonderful! :)
I cant remember i have been luicid dreaming at all (I think i have, but I just cant remember it), but it sounds so interesting. The introduction to luicid dreaming on this website is very wellwritten and I'll start to write my dream journal from tomorrow when I wake up.
One of the things that strike me most about this forum is how kind everyone is! On other forums people are always mad at each other, but it seems like this one is filled with happy, cheerful people, who are willing to help anyone. I have a feeling I have joined a great forum! :)

Hello and welcome to the forums, Morten. People here are indeed friendly and will always help you in short time. This site has lots of interesting features like built in Dream Journal, shortenings dictionary and many more.
My tip for you is: It may be hard to get your first Lucid Dream, but never give up and keep trying. I once thought I will never have a Lucid Dream, but after few days I had 3 in one night.
Goodluck!

I'm new to this forum, but it's good to see that there are more people wanting to learn more about lucid dreaming. it sure is a fascinating thing ^^
Well, welcome and good luck with your dreams! :D

Welcome to the forum, Morten!
Starting a dream journal is a good first step, another would be to check out the tutorial section and familiarize yourself with the various techniques for attaining lucidity. Good luck, and don't be afraid to ask questions :D

Thank you all for the kind responses. :)
So last night I was focusing on remembering my dream when i went to bed, and I didn't do very well. I set my alarm to wake me up in 4 hours and 40 minutes (I read in the tutorial that i should aim for the latter REM periods), but I couldnt remember anything so I went to sleep again, and this morning I could only remember one small episode of a dream and nothing else. But something felt different last night when i fell asleep; i could clearly feel the stage between awake and sleep, which I havent tried before. I could feel my breathing getting deeper, my body began to stop responding to what I wanted it to do and it just felt very funny. Is that how sleep paralysis is? :)

Yes your body will go through sleep paralysis before entering the dream, that is what you experienced. I'm guessing you were attempting a DILD? You should look up the WILD and DEILD techniques, it sounds like you are pretty natural at it. I have a link for the tutorial section below.

Heya Morten, as others have said-- Welcome to Dreamviews :)
-I defiantly recommended checking out the wiki User Tutorials - Dreamviews Lucid Dreaming Community & Resource.
If you wish to learn to DILD I recommended reading KingYoshis tutorial. http://www.dreamviews.com/f12/all-da...gyoshi-113253/
If you wish to learn to WILD I reccomend Mzzkcs guide. http://www.dreamviews.com/f79/mzzkcs...-guide-105484/
-Good luck to you :)

Hi Morten.. Welcome to DV's Forum.
Inception huh, confusing movie.
And I wonder how you all felt, learning to LD by methods...still getting used to this idea. Its really possible?

Welcome to DV and good luck with your lucid dreams! Everyone else seems to get them better/faster than me, so I am sure you succeed in no time.

Last night when i was laying in my bed I experienced a more intense SP. This time my whole body was doing these small movements all the time, and I could see flashing lights over and over. I havent tried to open my eyes yet when I'm in SP (I have read stories about the old hag and it sounds pretty scary! :P ). I have read about sleep paralysis but I cant find anything about flashing lights as a symptom. Has anyone else experienced this?
-
Flashing lights are just another hallucination. Some other ones include vibrations in various body parts, pain, the sensation of falling or floating, buzzing noise, someone calling your name, tingling, very fast heartbeat etc. Pretty much anything can be a hallucination, everyone experiences different ones.
The important thing is to stay relaxed. Pay attention to the HI and the dream will form. Pay too much attention to the sensation of being in SP and the process of entering the dream and you may lie in SP for a very long time.
