New!
Hey I just made my account :) I am looking forward to attaining my first lucid dream! As of tonight, I will start to keep my dream journal and improve my recall. I expect to have my first lucid dream in about two or three months, but I could wait that long for the very rewarding experience :)

2-3 months?! You can have one sooner than that if you work at it. Practice doing a bunch of RCs throughout the day, or if you're really hardcore, try ADA. That will get you much quicker results.
Also, welcome to DV and good luck :)

What is there to work at? I thought keeping a dream journal is the only "Important" step in learning to lucid dream. Sorry if that sounds one sided, but I am completely and utterly new and I do not know much.

There's a shitload of things you can do support become lucid. Yes, a dream journal is very vital, but there is far more you can do. Keeping lucid dreaming on your mind is good. Coming here, watching a movie about dreaming, reading a book about dreaming. Also, let's not forget that there are induction methods. A few I've used are in my signature. WILD, MILD, DILD, and DEILD. You can learn how to do these by clicking, Wiki, then go to the DV tutorials.

As I can see MILD's are very easy for you to do. But generally speaking, which method would provide the most dramatic and quick results, without too much difficulty. I know I have not started my dream journal yet, but I have fairly good recall. But I am still going to keep a journal.

If you want to greatly increase your chances of becoming lucid, do a Wake Back To Bed (WBTB) whenever possible. Interrupting your sleep to remind yourself to become lucid does wonders.
