Hello viewers! i am a new bee.At times,i do have horrible dreams mostly when i sleep with my face up,most times i will see imaginary images with the feelings of being suppressed and inability to breath,i will yell but no one will hear me,after some time,i will wake up.I later understood it was sleep paralysis.I want to know what causes it.

Hi
Do you wake up in the middle of the night due to this, and always experience the trouble to breath (as if you've held ur breath/ just got the air knocked out of you)?
If so it could be Sleep-Apnea, but as always diagnosis over internet is never accurate.
You can read more about apnea if you google "sleep apnea" (cant post links yet)
Sleep Paralysis in a brief description is when the body has yet to realise that the mind is awake, I've had it described from my brother who experiences it on a weekly basis, and he found it to be quite creepy until he learnt some more about it.
You can read more about SP here on Dreamviews, or other pages about Dreams.
Im quite new at this forum, so SP & other Lucid glossary is not my speciality yet, but im sure you'll get an anwser from one of the seasoned members with more knowledge around Sleep Paralysis soon!
Cheers,

I've experienced Sleep Paralysis so many times in my life. It wasn't until this weekend as I was reading up on an assignment that I discovered what it was. Very exciting, but horrifying too! The worst one yet happened in 2008...
