Another Question From Typho

Although I am in a bit of a recall depression (Due to some stress from school,probably):P, I want to know what should I do when I get a controllable lucid (Witch I will probably get soon) I've heard that most people get so excited from having their first lucid that they woke themselves up. I don't think I do that:D,because I have had a frustrating time with dream control in the past,and not awoken myself I had a lucid just as I was gaining interest in this site,probably induced just by reading the article. Here are my concerns and questions. First off, As soon as I entered the dream I was fully lucid, but almost Immediately, I dropped into a sort of semi Lucid state. I became fully lucid again at the end to try to save the dream by dream spinning, but failed. I have heard of dream stabilization techniques (Things like rubbing your hands.) to try, so after that, what should I do?

One more question, Will dream stabilization always be this hard, or as I practice, will it take less effort to stay lucid,control dreams,etc:?

What did you do from the time you were fully lucid to the time you became semi-lucid? A lot of times people will lose lucidity because they get too involved in a task, like trying to control something, and they lose focus. Continuing to do RCs from time to time can help to keep you focused and grounded in the dream. Clarity increasing techniques are also helpful.

Dream spinning and hand rubbing should work pretty easily on their own, it doesn't really take practice to get good at it. You could also try paying attention to small little details in the dream in order to increase clarity and lucidity. Ex: picking up some sand and feeling it in your hands, staring at it close, etc.

Like Raph pointed out, reality checks will be your best friend when it comes to maintaining lucidity. Once you become lucid, even if you know you are in a dream, its a good idea to perform a few RCs. This will allow you to really implant that, "I am dreaming," thought. It is also a good idea to perform several throughout your dream every now and again. RCs also can help with stability. As for stabilization techniques, just try out many different kinds during throughout your lucid career. Try to find some that work best for you. Control and keeping a dream stable will be easier the more used to the experience you get. Good luck to you and if you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask!
