First Thread
Well, I'm incredibly new to the whole lucid dreaming scene. I'd read about it before, but I've never taken much stock in it. I remember some vivid dreams I've had, but they were quite a while ago. What changed my mind was one I had recently, where I got these awesome red tattoos on my arms, and when I touched them, I grew wings and could fly. After experiencing something like that, I went to look up stuff on lucid dreaming, and was quite amazed with what I was reading. I figured I'd give it a shot, because what do I have to lose?
I want to LD, so I'm starting from scratch - I'm going to try to make daily posts in my DJ, or at least update it with the dreams I missed for the appropriate days.
I'll doubtlessly be searching the forums for techniques, tutorials, and tips, but any little bits of general advice are welcome! From what I've seen, this is a great community, and I'm glad I get the chance to be a part of it! :)

Welcome to the forum :D
Having a DJ is a good way to start, also doing RCs throughout the day will help to increase awareness. When you're trying DILDs these are pretty much mandatory.

Welcome to DV! Just try to keep an even pace. Set up a long term goal and understand that learning how to do this can take a while. It's not impossible to get lucid on your first night though, so keep the motivation up! Belief is very important and getting your recall up aswell.
Check out the Wiki - Dreamviews Lucid Dreaming Community & Resource and its tutorials. I suggest you look at DILD, MILD and WILD. They're the basic techniques. I suggest you try them all out.
If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Thanks, guys! I'll be sure to ask for help if I need it! And I knew better than to come into something like this with expectations of instant success. It took me a loooooooong time to learn to play the piano, so I think I'll take the same approach - start small, keep it simple, and build on what I can do from there. After all - practice makes perfect, and if I can grab some sleep while I practice, then all the better. :)
