      Amazing! False awakening!

I have only been keeping a journal and been doing reality checks now for a few days. Yesterday, I did about 100, and some before I went to sleep. I was sleeping over at a friends house, we were going to play golf very early in the morning, about 5:30 am, so we had to get up at 4:25, atleast we sat our mobilephones to beep at that time.

I remember that throughhout the night, I dremt that we were in his livingroom, showing my english teacher something about golf, and eating. Now the really messed up thing here is. I had a false awakening. I woke up, took my mobilephone down from the bench over my head, looked at the time, it was 4:24, so I went to settings, turned off the alarm. Then when my friends mobilephone beeped I told him, hey wake up, and he answered so I told him, "This is really weird, I actually woke up 1 minute before the alarm beeped" he answered me by saying, yeah me too. Then we layed in bed for a while.

Now, later I woke up, and I thouht, DAMN now we're really late, we overslept. So I wake him up, saying we should have had another alarmclock. He tells me, what are you talking about. So I say, check the clock. He tells me to do it, but I cant find my mobilephone, which I had placed under my pillow. So he checked his, it was 4:13, I said, something has to be wrong with your clock. Then I checked mine, it was also 4:13, and the marker for the alarm was still on, it hadnt been shut off. So I realized, wow, I must have had a false awakening.

Everything felt so real, what I touched I saw, and the text on the menu in my mobilephone was also clear. Was this my first lucid dream? Though, I wasnt aware of that I was dreaming. Probably because nothing really felt unnatural about the situation. Anyhow it was awesome to discover that it was all a dream, gave me a real shock.

no, false awakenings aren't lucid dreams. a dream is only a lucid dream if you are aware of the fact that you're dreaming. false awakenings can lead to a lucid dream, though. if you always do a reality check when you wake up, at one point you may find that you actually had a false awakening rather than actually waking up.

Ignorant bliss is an oxymoron; but so is miserable truth.
