I started remembering my dreams but still havn't got lucid!?

I started becoming intrested in lucid dreaming few days ago, researching most of my time on the computer on the topic, the first day I didn't really expect to lucid dream the following night but I put my attention in remembering dreams, because I read somewhere that remembering dreams is the first step in lucid dreaming. So I started the dream journal, first night I recalled only 1 dream, second night only 1 dream, 3rd night same again, but this morning I recalled 5 dreams! And I could remember them as they were, it took some time trying to remember them ofcourse but not long.

The thing is as each dreams went passed I do feel as if they get bizarre like I'm not quite at the lucid state, but I have a slight instinct that somethings wrong, like when I look in the mirror I look a tiny bit different, not as people claim, looking completely different, but I STILL can not get lucid. But I certainly have gotten better at recalling dreams now.

Am I close to lucid dreaming? Or will it take time and patience?....

It can take weeks. It differs with most people, but getting one within a few days of starting is rare. There's nothing to indicate you're "close" to lucidity other than that you're remembering more, which is a plus. Just keep recording and doing the various suggestions around here, and be prepared to try for a while.

Wow good job on the recall :). With regards to your first lucid have you tried any specific techniques to become lucid? Because dream recall is the first thing you should build on or you won't remember your lucid dream. And yes, I think you have come close to lucid because one of my first lucid dreams was when I looked in the mirror and looked slightly different, nothing too disfigured. But as I said you should try the techniques which will make you more aware during the day and therefore you will become more aware in your dreams. Yeah, even if recall comes quickly for you, I've found Lucid dreams take awhile longer still.
For me after about a week I had increased my recall ten fold, but only had a lucid dream 1 1/2 months later.

I didn't have my first lucid dream until about a month or so after I started recording my dreams. And even then it only lasted for a few seconds. Last time I became lucid was when I looked in a mirror and saw my face had a bunch of holes in it (O_O) and the dream literally collapsed around me and I felt like I was being sucked back into consciousness.

To make things easier, become familiar with your past dreams, they can be very entertaining to read and will increase your dream recall even further.

Lucid Dreaming takes patience. It's taken my 2 years. But that's probably because i was doing the methods wrong. But don't get discouraged if it takes you a while, just keep at it and you will get there. When you do, you will be really glad you waited.

it's going to take you longer than a few days to get good at LDing. True to the point, I've been at it for just over a week, and already had Two Lucid dreams. But I am a bit of a gifted LDer.
Remeber to do your REALITY CHECKS as much as you can. Stay positive. Not everyone can control their dreams, but everyone can lucid dream.
