Need advice about binaural beats and what I experienced

Hello. I just took a 35 minute long nap (at least I think so, that's how much of the binaural beat I listened to). Earlier I downloaded a binaural beat called "boxed nirvana" at nomad.info. It was supposed to "Aid the stimulation of primary and secondary energy circuits, and put you into a deep trance state (mind awake, body asleep)."
I haven't succeeded at a WILD attempt before, and I might have done about 25 attempts or so. But I wanted to try this beat to help me at least relax fully and get SP. I only got to 35 minutes of the hour long binaural beat, and was really, really relaxed (or so it seemed, my body felt like there was a little heavy blanket on me, but not much). I didn't get any vibrations or HI yet, which was really disappointing. It was basically the deeply relaxed feeling for about 10 minutes.. so it got boring, and I was wanting to quit.
So I opened my eyes and gave up.
I didn't know what to do at that point anyway. It's the first time I've really felt that relaxation in a while.
So what I'm basically trying to ask is.. what do I need to do when I'm in that state? How can I continue on into the dream?

Also, I'm planning to do a WBTB with this same binaural beat. And i'm waking up at about 5 or 6 hours after I have first gone to sleep. How exactly would I be able to WBTB with this? Any suggestions?

Did you take this nap during the day? Also, do you know the frequencies of the track (like, theta _Hz...) ?

You have the right idea using this kind of relaxation aid for a wbtb/wild,
but don't expect much if it's used during the day.

That's the basic summary of it. Do you think you could help me on how I can actually induce a WILD with the help of this?

Normally theta frequencies are associated with meditation or moving into rem sleep, although brain activity is supposed to get up to the gamma range during a LD iirc.
I'm not sure why that track would start in beta (alpha frequencies accompany light relaxation), and [alpha --> delta] tracks are sometimes sleep induction tracks (as in when you first get in bed at night, after which you enter deep/delta sleep, which you don't enter so much in the morning when you'll be initiating a LD), which is what your track is essentially...

"Boxed nirvana" really doesn't make me think of lucid dreaming and it doesn't sound like it's intended for it.
After sleeping for a few hours you'll mostly want to be relaxed but hold onto a thread of awareness, like with meditation. You'll probably want to use something around the 5-8 Hz theta/alpha range as an aid for the wbtb/wild (I normally use one that's 6Hz and mixed with rain sounds - I really like this sound and I also use rain/water as a dreamsign and a meditation object during the wild). When you're listening to this (laying in bed) you can rest your attention on the sound and do whatever helps to relax (remember you want to allow your body to fall asleep but also be able to return to whatever it is you're focusing on if you drift off). After the track is over (it might take a bit to figure out the duration) take out your earbuds and then go for a wild.

Well, the track is an hour. What if I'm asleep by then? And if I move.. won't it break the trance?
Also, if this isn't a very good beat for WILDing, do you think you could link me to a better one or email me one?
I'm not that great with making my own binaural beats, and I may mess it up if I try.
But if I really should make one for my own, do you think you could tell me or point me to a guide?

With audio tracks you can either continue playing it while you fall asleep or you can use it to get ready for a wild (while spending enough time awake for a [not really textbook] wbtb). I can't fall asleep with earbuds on and I don't want to turn over in my sleep and have them press into my eardrums, anyways. Like I said before, you'll need to figure out how long is best for you to stay awake for this - I like to listen to two tracks for a half hour total and when they're over I'm ready to turn over and go for a wild; if you stay in one position for a while and then turn over this often helps you enter sleep more smoothly, but if you want you can stay in one position the entire time... I think a lot of people here focus too much on being completely still -- you can't enter a lucid dream if you don't fall asleep first, and worrying about having to swallow and so on is kind of missing the point.

After you listen to a brainwave entrainment track your brainwaves should obviously be at a different frequency, which helps to get you into a conducive state of mind, and the track itself can be a good object for meditation.

I don't know how to make one of these tracks, but a search on amazon will give you:

zen mindwaves - good for relatively short tracks paired with rain/ocean sounds
brainmindmedia - not really LD oriented, but pretty good for some other things

Those are my favorites, and some others are kind of irritating to listen to and aren't mixed all that well.

So... just figure out how you want to use an audio aid after waking up early in the morning - if you want to use it to prepare you for a wild or continue into sleep with it. :)
