I don't want to lucid dream anymore!

Lucid dreaming may seem like a lot of fun if you don't do it often. It is sleeping on the edge of REM. To me, it is exhausting. I wake up many times throughout the night. And I never feel well rested. I often drift back and forth between lucid and non lucid dreams....meaning I am aware I am dreaming, but don't take control of the dream. In that aspect I cannot ever accomplish anything in my dreams. ie. knowing I am dreaming, but still trying to dial the telephone. I can't see the numbers or dial them correctly, but rather than say" this is a dream, the number is not even relevant," I keep trying. Kinda hard to explain, but when I wake up, I feel like I was running a marathon. I just want to sleep deeper and not remember so much about my dreams.
I also have WILD dreams, the ones where you dream that you woke up and started your day, but in reality, it is all still a dream. I'm tired.:(

This is not a WILD.

Ok, lots of problems here, saying =/= knowing, so you might as well have no lucids. What you described as WILD there is in reality a FA or false awakening.
Now, onto the real problem, are you sure it is the lucid dreams that make you feel unrested? Not even once have a LD made me feel unrested, nor for a lot of other people. So, you sure the problem is the lucid dream, or maybe a sleep disorder you have, but are not aware of?

This sounds just like insomnia to me, and is not related to lucid dreaming. In fact, learning how to become fully lucid in dreams may actually help you, as it generally brings with it a greater knowledge of the sleep state and greater control over your body as you sleep.

Well..my case -the kind of LD I get- is different from you, however I feel the same way as you did every time you wake from it..so tired.
And I've got lots of weird and new feelings when I wake.

This doesn't sound like a dreaming issue, it sounds like a sleeping issue. Dreams shouldn't make you tired, they're all in your mind.

This statement is FALSE, Dreams can make you tired. It is your mind that gets tired. Your mind do need to rest at times. If you over stimulate your mind your mind will get tired. Everyone who has a jobb that requires constant alertness and awareness gets tiresome after a few hours. Keeping such concentration for hours is tiresome. And it does project onto your body.

Altough It may be to sleeping habits, Like having a Television on while sleeping, You pick those things up and that give your brain no time to relax. Just try sleeping with TV on a whole night or Radio or wathever, then dont do it. You will feel a rather big change.(altought you may come into the habit of not being able to go to sleep without TV, Sleep Timer is perfect for this!) But Dreams can make you feel tired.

Your right....FA is correct. What causes this FA experience. I think it is horrible.

I've always thought of insomnia as the inability to sleep. I sleep all night, but I always wake up to roll over. I wake up just enough to roll over and then go right back to sleep, most often continuing the same dream. I can also get up out of bed, get a drink or something, and when I go back to bed, the same dream starts just where I left off, even if I really try to shake it.
I'm sure it is all somehow stress related, I just don't know how to avoid remembering so much of my dreams. Many days it's like a scary movie you can't forget. My dreams stick with me for hours after I get up.

I agree that this sounds like it may be a sleeping issue - but have you tried any dream control techniques? They could be incredibly helpful in stabilizing your dreams, and also finding a heightened level of comfort and happiness within your dreams. I think that if you worked on being able to have more control over your dream world(s) you would be less apt to dislike having lucid dreams. The wiki area of this site is immensely helpful as far as tutorials on dream control goes - I highly suggest you check it out :)

Sadly its still an issue..
I'm aware of every action I did and emotions I felt in those dreams too..they stick with me throughout the day.
I'll remember my dream if I recall it once I wake, but doing so will cause my head to near bursting.
If not I'll just remember fragments of the main events.
My head so pack with foreign experiences from dreams..and that's why I feel like my head is gonna Explode every morning.
Seeking reasonable solutions, and people like you to see if there's any common 'stuffs' among us, who are suffering because of this.

It's true that a over stimulated mind can make you tired, but lucid dreams is like a normal dream, it's just that you are AWARE of that you are dreaming. In every single dream you controll them but it's your subconcious thats controlls them.

In fact, your brain is more active while sleeping. So it's not the dream that makes you tired because as said, your brain is very active while sleeping but you usualy get rested(or whatever you call it) because I mean why should we sleep if you get's even more tired?

I think that it is a case of sleeping dissorder.

I think it is a sleep disorder as well. Either way I somehow feel like hypnotherapy could be used as a cure/treatment. O_O

I kind of know what you mean. I had an intense lucid dream lasting what seemed like about an hour dream time, maybe about 25mins normal time about 2ish this morning after drifting off unexpectedly before the bed time rituals that usually set you up for a deeper sleep. I won't bore you with the details but flying around above a huge indoor pool for a lot of it!

Anyhoo, I don't usually get these things all night long, but I was woken a fair few times by how cool flying is last night. I always fly. It has to be done. Luckily no work this week so I could lay in but unbelievably tired this morning and not very well rested. Its probably because I haven't yet mastered keeping that state steady for longer periods of time although the spinning around thing works pretty nicely most of the time. But It wasn't like I was woken up all the way through the night, only a few times.

Does lucidity prevent you getting to the restorative stages of REM? You get them popping up at all times of the night, but maybe only when you're faily shallow or hypnogogic? Bad spelling? If you maintain that state which I'm getting better at gradually, does that mean you're depriving yourself of the deeper stages where daily memory consolidation takes place? Too much fun could be a bad thing...

Doesn't too much sleep also cause you to feel really tired in the morning? I have never felt sleep deprived just because I had lucid dreams.

Definitely man! I think the golden sleep period is about six-seven hours. Any amount over that you may as well subtract from this goldilocks duration. I can't put my finger on why I'm usually more tired after a playground of a night. Its not usually to do with having slept for longer. But I know what you mean Chloie - dreaming of being at work, then falsely awakening and going to work, then finally waking up properly and going to work for the third time that day. Ideal excuse for a duvet day sicky, spent dreaming about being at work probably.
