I'm about at my third week, no luck yet but it has to happen eventually. I'm just ganna stick with doing WBTB, Mild, and using B6/12. But I know my main problem, I can't do my dream journal at night when i wake up, I tell myself before going to sleep that I need to write down my dreams every time I wake up but writing a dream at 4 in the morning sucks.
Just got to get lucky and get your first lucid then it just gets easier from there since you know what your goal truly is
It took me a month to have my first lucid dream.
Didn't use any special technique, just DILD.
I had very good recall at the time. It's been a little inconsistent lately but I think it has to do with stress...
I've been having them probably once a week/every other week.
By the way, WinRic... it definitely sucks to write down a dream at 4am, but all you need to do is jot down a few key words. You probably won't even fully wake up and be able to fall asleep in minutes. Then in the morning just read what you wrote and it should all come back so you can record the dream in detail into your dream journal. Half the time I don't even remember waking up but I'll look at the mini notepad under my pillow in the morning and be like "Mime...? Sweater...? Oh yeah, I remember that..."
It was a long time ago but I think I had my first lucid during the first few days of browsing dreamviews. I was so obsessed with lucid dreaming and I'd already been keeping a dream journal (so I had very good dream recall), so it was almost like as soon as I realised that I could wake up in my dream, I did.
I still don't really have lucid dreams frequently, although I've definitely had hundreds I would say that I only have about one or two a week. I'm still working on making them last longer, which is my major weakness.
The technique I use is just doing a sort of reality check in waking life where I stop what I'm doing and imagine that I'm in a dream at that very moment. It makes me look critically about my surroundings and think about how a dream would feel different, or similar. And obviously you need to do something like try and hover to check that it's not a dream...
For me it works quite well; just being able to focus on your surroundings and experiences for a few seconds is very effective for inducing an LD when you do it in a dream.

A couple days before my first lucid. I prefer the DILD teqnique. It is easiest. I still can't have LD's Regularly. Normally, I only recall one dream per night, but can remember it pretty good.

-I've had lucid dreams most of my life, but not very frequently. My first lucid dream happened when I was about 7 years old I think. It started with some chain of a continuing nightmare I had over 3 nights. The first night, the sky just turned red, there was feeling of dread or doom in the air, and everyone just looked horrified. The second night, the sky was still red and I went to my school as if it was a normal day, but it was dark, empty, and destroyed inside. The third night continued with me sitting alone in class. After wondering where everyone was, my teacher and classmates suddenly appeared out of nowhere as if they had always been there. They soon glared at me with red eyes and chased me out to the playground. I then turned to face the mob and said, "Wait, I'm dreaming!" Now that I was lucid, I tried to move my physical body while screaming, "Wake up! Wake up!" I was now sitting in my bed completely safe. Almost everytime I've ever had a bad dream after that, I would become lucid and either force wake up or just face the threat.-
This would have been considered a DILD because I went lucid in the middle of the dream and didn't wake up any other times that night. My dream recall is usually bad except for dreams that were really interesting to me. Dream recall might have played a role there though because it was based off past dreams. Eventually I might get motivated, but I'm too lazy to really try to make lucid dreams happen frequently. I had quite a few more between 7-10 years old, but they would only happen when I had bad dreams. I had no lucids at all and very few bad dreams until I was about 13 years old. Experiencing these dreams again led me to learn more about dreams, then about lucid dreaming, and now I'm here. I type too much. :D
