Hi welcome to the forums.
There really isn't a need to take supplements. Just be patient and the lucid dreams will come.
Are you keeping a dream journal?
What technique(s) are you using?

I really have just started attempting, i tried the WBTB last night but no luck. I may try to use one of these isochronic tones i just read about on here tonight. any info on these?

Hi Brandon, welcome to the Dreamviews forum!
Melatonin has been reported to improve dream vividness/recall (not really lucid dreams), but it also helps you fall asleep, which unfortunately can sometimes cause less dream recall! You might be able to relate it to taking Nyquil or another sleep aid because you have a cold - you fall asleep faster but you also don't remember dreaming as much.
Unfortunately, there isn't anything really confirmed to help cause lucid dreams, just to make them more clear/vivid.
Since you're using the WBTB technique, I'm guessing you're going for a DILD, where you simply become aware in the dream itself? If so, try drinking apple juice. It really helps me to increase the vividness of my dreams, and it helps others too. It could work if you want better dream vividness. :)

How is your dream recall? That is the first step. Once you can remember at least two or three dreams per night, it will be much easier to become lucid.
