I was just wondering if sleeping late at night affects your dream recall.
I slept around 1:30 am (usually i sleep around 10-11), and I did not remember any dreams I had, which is weird because I usually remember at least one.

I think it does, since your body is used to another sleeping pattern. Plus if you get up at the same time, then you wouldn't have been able to reach the same amount of REM sleep.
Like most aspects of LD, I think it depends on the person. I'm used to shifty sleeping patterns,
and I always remember something from my dreams no matter what time I go to sleep.
I've read that if you don't get a lot of sleep it's harder to have dreams which in turn makes it harder to remember dreams.
Since you starts REM 4-5 hours into it, it's harder if you sleep late on a school/work day when you have to get up real early. Get what I'm saying?

That makes sense. But on the weekend I slept late, but got the same amount of sleep and still didn't remember any dreams. Maybe it was just that day.
I slept 15 hours last night and dreamt a long lucid dream.
Of course if you deprive yourself of sleep than dream rebound will happen and you should have more dreams.
Wow, 15 hours? Lol, does dream rebound increase the chances of lucid dreaming?
It increase your REM length, and as you can sleep for a long time you can do some mantras and stuff each time you wake up during the morning and fall asleep. Increasing your chances.

As for the OP:
Going to sleep later than you usually would, will affect your recall, because you won't get in to the later stages of REM, which are longer, more vivid dreams.
Getting up later than you usually would (without sleeping less the day before) also affects recall because you have sort of gone past all your interesting REM rich dreams and entered the stage where you don't need to dream anymore, and it usually ends up as a repeating scenario until you wake up, or just random hallucination type things, which you won't remember.

Ahh that makes a lot more sense. No wonder I don't have any good dreams when I sleep in lol. Thanks for all the replies :)
