Welcome my new pal. Firstly music can help, it is used in waking your mind and starting a dream, for this you need to know your REM period and you need to time the music to start at REM stage however if the music is too loud or aggressive, ie heavy metal it will wake you and you dont want that so something peaceful quietly will wake only your mind into a dream.

Secondly best way&time to WILD is in the morning just after you have woken up you dont need to be wrapped up or tied to the bed, Actually more free you are the better.
Now WILD starts by a little tingling feeling in your fingertips and/or toes and it will go forward to numbness and during this time you can feel like you are in waves easy. As for itching and feeling like your position is crap, its normal part of WILD caused by your body for testing if your brain is a sleep if you dont move and and you success in ignoring your itchiness that will lead to sleep paralyzis.

      Lastly few tips.
While paralyzing You dont want to fall a sleep you need to keep your mind semi awake best method is simply to count numbers few seconds apart and and thinking that you are sleeping

Example 1,100 im sleeping 2,100 im sleeping etc Till you start to see a dream forming in front of you

Lastly ignore all typos etc since its early here
Insanity is the mind's only effective defense against reality.
sometimes dreams are so good that it hurts to wake up... .

Music can drown out other sounds that might prevent you from sleeping, but I don't think so. Although music can be very relaxing, so it might put you to sleep faster and deeper, which should create a REM rebound in the early morning hours.

That feeling you mentioned is a good sign you are on the right track. You are starting to break down the connection between your mind and your body. Keep it up, my friend!
