Do you dream music?
Hello All,
Newbie here. I am an electronic musician and I am curious if there are other artists here who dream music and then recreate it?
check out my webiste and listen to Ocean Sunrise...I had a vivid dream of seeing and hearing music falling from the sky and woke to recreate it....
Dream On,

Hi! Welcome to Dreamviews. I have dreamt of music a couple times but never recreated it since I am a bad musician. The current Task of the Month is to play an instrument in your dreams. I have completed that task and you can read about it here. I have heard a couple people on here who dreamt of playing music and actually recreated it. I forgot their names but I remember it's somewhere on youtube.

I've created a few songs in my dreams before, spongebob style. I walked into a music store and pointed at different instruments, which began to play at my command. Nothing worth remembering though, or turning into actual songs once I woke up.

yep, during my one lucid dream, that lasted a while, battle music came to me out of nowhere, and it was completely custom, i had never heard it before. i recreated the song as soon as i woke up.

That sounds so cool! I would love to hear your dream music. I think the only time I dreamt music was the song Don't Stop Believing. That song was stuck in my head for the rest of that day! I don't even like it that much. (I'm a newbie here too; this is my first post :D)

I've only heard the song "Dani California" play once in a non-lucid dream, and it lasted not even a minute.

:welcome: There are a few musicians here. Lots of artists use dreams as an inspiration.

I've had dreams where songs are playing that I swear in the dreams are real songs, only to wake up and find out that they weren't.

Welcome to the forums, Synthesis! Ah yes, I personally have had many dreams with music (both produced and original, lucid and regular) and they are some of my favorite dreams. I have only thought to record one of them, however, and even then I only got the basic parts of it. I would love to try it again, but sadly I have only had one lucid of decent length since that last one and I usually don't wake up soon enough afterwards when it is a regular dream to remember it clearly.
I wish you luck with your future dreams in that regard. :D (If you make something out of a song from your dreams, post it in the art section (if you haven't already)! I would love to hear it!)

The only dream where music and dreaming has come across is during a lucid where I materialized an iPod to use that to stabilize one of my sense (sound, obviously, dur) and when i clicked play, music from memory played.

The Aphex Twin claims to have lucid dreamt some of his tracks, especially 'Selected Ambient Works II'

Seldomly; however, I do sometimes dream of writings and such. Cards, mathematics, poetry. The only thing is that I cannot remember the words once I wake up. Is there a possible solution to that?

I've dreamt writing a lot. The first thing I get when I start seeing images can be a wall of text.
You might not be able to remember the exact words but you can remember the general sense of the paragraph and draft something from there.
