I read your two DJ entries and I want to ask you a few questions, so we all can see what you are doing and maybe see what you are doing wrongly, or not well enough.
-Do you have a written dream journal, that you fill with every nights dreams?
-How long have you been trying to have a lucid dream?
-What methods do you know of and what methods do you use?
-What times to you get up/go to bed?
-What are your goals for when you lucid dream? Such as the list below are mine: vvv
^ What he said. Also I want to ask you if you've read up on Lucid Dreaming, and realise that it might take some time, even weeks or months for some to get their first lucid. Origami is a prime example of that. Got any questions? Ask away!
^ What he said. It took me 4 months and two weeks until I had my first lucid. And even then it wasn't super great.
The best tip anyone can give you, ever, is to keep focus and a positive attitude.
Adding on to everything else. With an attitude like yours I am not suprised that you couldnt lucid dream. A failure is a stepping stone to success, so just think more positively and you may see a difference. Even Ive only had 3 lucids in around 4 months of trying, so dont give up and put yourself down.
i do have a dj which i cant really fill out if im not dreaming
i have been trying for 4 days
methods: count figers, stare at hands, the ground
bed: about 10 up: very early like 6. i can never sleep in 4 sum reason
one goal of mine is to swim. since a skin condition prevents me from doing that in reality
and for you firedevil, i will try to keep a positive attitude :]
Some people just have a harder time with it than others. I'm terrible at it, but I've been slacking off with dream recall and RCs so it's no surprise :P
You haven't been trying for very long yet, so keep at it and you'll eventually get it :)
Yup, the only 100% solid advice you can ever get is to keep trying. It will never happen if you don't try, and everything on this site is there to help speed up the process of getting one.
Oh, 4 days, come on! At least you're not saying you've lost motivation :D
You need some time to get acquainted with your dream patterns (dream journal), get into habit of questioning reality (awareness, reality checks), get to know basics about sleep, dreams, different techniques to achieve lucidity (reading this forum, books on lucid dreaming). All of that takes some time. Keep practicing and you're gonna have one in no time! :)
Btw, thanks Origami for reminding about lucid goal list - hard to believe, I forgot about even keeping one X)
I think by methods they were trying to firgure out if your using DILD, DEILD, MILD, WILD, WBTB etc.... And how you go about actually trying to induce a lucid....
If you have no idea what i just said, don't worry, took me a while to keep up with the acronyms of the dreaming community too =P. Just have a general read about the site and you should pick it up very quickly :)
Good luck!
thanks for the encouragement!!!!!!!!!! it really helps to have a site like this with nice people that are willing to lend a hand and no crazy psycos putting you down.
thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
its not the water. its the sun. when im out in the sun i get this rashy-burn type thing. i get all puffy and red. its nasty. i can't be at the beach at a normal time with normal people, so i want to be there in a dream. a lucid dream, so i can swim with sharks and not get torn apart or burned. its summertime now, so im pretty much stuck inside all day till the sun goes down.
heres the funny part: i cannot swim.
Neither can I. Well I can, but like a brick. Beach is over rated, sand get in your eyes, there constant wind, waters either too cold or shark infested and there is always someone there wearing just a little too less clothing than they should. Beach blows, go to cinema. Only some of the normal people go to the beach. It's summer here, I live near the beach. Haven't been there in years, haven't been outside today, its evening now, but I ain't even mad, there's nothing to do anyway.
so true.
