I'm new. (:
Hello DV!
I'm new to this community so I thought I would share a quick hello and ask for some help and advice at the same time.
Okay, so first I think that this community is the perfect way to start learning how to lucid dream, ask questions and learn much more with a community than just being self -taught.
I guess I really want to start lucid dreaming. It sounds like a cool idea and I would love to try it. There are only a few problems with me. I am starting at 0 experience in dreaming at all. In fact, I have insomnia and it's hard for me to get to sleep. I'm also terrible at recalling dreams and they're not quite as vivid as I would like them to be. Although I know this skill can be learned, I thought I would just ask for some help or advice first. As well, I'm wondering if anyone else started where I am, with virtually no experience at all.
Anyways, Cheers! I'm off to read the stickies now. :P

Hi Quantiq, welcome to Dreamviews. :D
I joined this site after having a random lucid a few years back, and soon became familiar with a bunch of different induction methods, thanks to Dreamviews. I didn't know next to anything either, and I'm sure there's a lot of other members here who were the same!
For recall, it's highly recommended that you start keeping a dream journal. Even if you can't remember lots of stuff at night, start by recording anything you can recall - small fragments, etc. Don't watch television or look at bright lights right before bed, which can mess up your internal clock, therefore having a detrimental effect on dream recall.
Be sure to read through the Dreamviews Wiki; it has lots of information you'll need to get started. And if you have any questions, feel free to ask or send me a PM!

Hi Quantiq, Welcome to Dreamviews!
You would be surprised how many people have trouble recalling dreams when they first start out. Have you seen this dream recall tutorial?
The wiki is a very helpful place where you can read tutorials, and other info about lucid dreaming. Also I would recommend starting a dream journal as soon as possible. Write down any detail of your dreams after you wake up that you remember.
Anyway good luck! :) If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

Thanks for the replies puffin and malcon!
I'm overwhelmed by the amount of guides and tutorials there are on DV, this website is a great resource. I'll also go take a look at the wiki in a bit.
As for the Dream Journal, I have a couple notes on my iPhone from small fragments that I remember from last night. Do you think it might be better to start traditionally with a pen and paper, or electronically (iPhone, computer etc.)
I'm also thinking of sharing my dream journals in the dream journal section once I can recall my dreams very well.
Anyways, thank you for the links! :)
