Sure, you can read it. It does talk about some sexual things, but it is only about a page and it doesn't go into detail at all.
I'm fifteen and could read it well. I don't think you will have a problem.
I'm a bit older; seventeen, but I enjoyed it. There's nothing really too mature or anything that will really go over your head, so to speak.

That book is filed with stuff about nightmares and other scary things... we can't expose our children's unformed minds to such garbage!!!
Enlightened parents would be reading it WITH their kids and helping them understand anything they might have trouble with.
I totally agree...I wish I had read it as a teen as it would have really benifitted me but instead i struggled for years as to what the hell was happening with me, I'm now 35 and didn't really understand fully that I was a natural lucid dreamer so go get it and have a good read :)Quote:

Well, yes, probably a lot of the same info and advice is posted in here, along with a lot more as well, but it's scattered and would take years to read it all that way. ETWOLD on the other hand is a clearly-written and very well-structured book putting a lot of study and exploration together in one place. It's like the concentrated essence of this site lol. It was just after I finished reading the book that I started having my first lucids (aside form the ones I had randomly when I was younger). I'd say read ETWOLD and then use this site to keep yourself thinking about lucidity and reality checks etc once you've packed your head full of the concentrated info.
It's a great book. It's informative and has a mostly neutral point of view on things. Unless you're talking about comprehension, in which case I'd say it has about high-school level vocabulary. It's very comprehensive, and in fact I'm sure the scientific information imparted in the book is heavily abridged. The focus is more on how the information applies to the average person.

Yeah, looking back at her OP, it isn't really clear what she's asking.
Its not a book written for kids or anything... it's a serious book by a scientist about lucid dreaming, going in depth into the mechanics and chemistry of the brain during sleep and techniques of entering lucidity... basically the same stuff this site is about. And as somebody said already, it's really aimed more at high school level and above. I thought the person asking was a kid asking if she'd be able to understand it... but she might be a mom wanting to get it for her kids?
This is why I suggested parents might want to read it to or with their kids to help explain anything difficult to them.
If you know (or are) a child interested in lucid dreaming, as long as they're close to teen years, like maybe 10 or over at least, I'd say they can handle it if they're proficient at reading. Of course, if a kid's not into LD to begin with, it'll bore them to sleep.
