Who can? Unless youv experienced it. Well, my advice is to try some different methods and always do RC's (reality checks). If you do some research, you will find that everynight you dream about 5 dreams ALWAYS EVERY NIGHT. Even if you dont remember them, you are still dreaming them. Go read up on some tutorials, the best way to remember a dream, is right when you wake up, just keep your eyes closed, and try to think about it. If you cant think of a dream, just think how you feel and you will most likely start to remember parts of your dream. Another good way, is to go to sleep, set an alarm to wake you up about 5 hours after you sleep, then go back to sleep. Thats the time where you most dream or something.. I did that last night and had a real vivid dream, some more advice, dont give up so easily. Its worth it :D
Appreciate the reply, I might just try that alarm clock method tonight.
Hehe, it reminds me of myself. At first, I was trying for 5 months to have my very first LD. But after that , the others come very fast...supposed that you continue RCing.
As far the dream recall is concerned...dont mind it so much. 8) When you have your LD you will be so excited that it will be very difficult to forget it. :-P
But if you want to have LD...you need to be diligent! Dont forget to do RCs. I set my alarm for example every 30 mins so I know I need to RC.
I tried that Alarm method and it worked. I couldnt believe it, it actually worked. I actually remembered a lot of my dream. I wasnt able to control it or recognize I was dreaming, but when I woke, I knew I had remembered my dream. Should I try this every night to practice? I still dont see how I can recognize that Im actually in one and control it, but we will see. Thanks for that method, actually worked lol.
Improving your recall is the first step to lucidity. The better you can recall your dreams, the more the chance that you will recognize when you are in a dream.
The next thing you should do is start keeping a dream journal, so that you can spot things that commonly appear in your dreams, and use those as "dream signs". Whenever you encounter one of your dream signs, immediately do a reality check, like pinching your nose and trying to breathe.

Yes beat the living crap out of him. But wait there is nothing you can do he is far away and his name isn't as simple as yours. I bet he is pretty shook up.
hehehehehehe burn!
I did find munk, tygrhawk, and melancholy to be informative.
Now I won't need to make a topic.
Anyways, I use to remember to open my eyes in my dreams in order to know it was a dream because when you dream, your eyes feel kinda heavy. Like they are closed but they seem to be open.
keep trying!
Yeah basically I will reiterate what they have said.
It is possible for EVERYONE to have lucids...some people it comes naturally others have to practice. But I SWEAR TO YOU, that no matter how hard you have to work at it, it is well worth the efforts. There is nothing like stopping in the middle of your dream and looking around and saying to yourself "my GOD, I can't believe this is a dream it feels so real".
Since it is working for you, continue to set your alarm to go off 5 hours after you go to sleep. Get up (if you can) and write whatever you can remember down in a dream journal...b/c you are still sort of fuzzy and the more you write the more the dream will come back to you! I actually don't write things down in the middle of the night, but when I wake up after a really great dream I just lay there for 5 or so minutes going back over everything that happened, kind of like moving it into my conscious thought so that it isn't so easily forgotten. It is said that we dream around 8 dreams a night, though I think the most I can usually remember is 2 or 3...depending.
Once you gain more dream recall you will start to notice recurring symbols/places/things/situations in your dreams that you will be able to label as your dream signs. For me, a BIG dream sign is losing control of my car. It's happened to me in so many dreams where I have just lost total control of my car...and now when it happens I am able to stop and say...what a minute...it's just a dream! Once you gain lucidity through recognizing your dream signs they will start to become more of a second nature to you. You will actually be able to question when something doesn't seem right in a dream, even if it isn't a dream sign. Like one time I jumped from the roof of my house to the ground to help my dad who had fallen, and I was like, wait a minute...that can't be right, I MUST be dreaming!
Don't forget to accompany those moments where you recognize a dream sign with a reality check (I don't have to do this, probably b/c I'm more experienced but I encourage new dreamers to do them) or else your mind might play a trick on you and sort of try to rationalize why things are the way they are and prevent you from becoming lucid. Believe me, I used to be one of those people who would just be like following a movie script in a dream, never questioning anything...but now, if I notice that something isn't right I will become lucid. It just takes practice!
Don't lose hope. And yes, it takes a bit of practice if it doesn't come naturally to you. Good luck. And if you have any more questions feel free to PM me or any of the other Dream Guides or MODs.
