So I'm new but I read the whole thing on LD but the hardest part of my dreaming is doing a reality check when I see something out of place. Normally I will ignore it and move on, but I want to be able to know how to remind myself in the dream that if I see something out of the ordinary I will preform a RC. This is really hard for me but I hope that those of you reading this understand what I'm getting at. Thank You for helping me. :)
Hey Tuttles, first of all welcome to Dreamviews!
The reason why you are not doing reality checks in your dream when you see something weird is because the logic center of your brain is turned off while dreaming. That is why you normally don't realize you are dreaming. You have to start to do reality checks often throughout every single day until they eventually carry down into your dreams (If you do them enough, I promise you they will carry down into your dreams!).
While doing a reality check you have to believe you are dreaming. For example, if you do the nose pinching reality check and expect yourself to not be able to breath, then you probably won't...even if you're dreaming! You have to expect to be able to breath, and if you can then you're dreaming!
Anyway you can remind yourself to do reality checks by writing 'RC' on your hand, or try to remember to do one everytime you walk through a doorway. I highly recommend for you to check out this tutorial, and read through it. Just keep it up and good luck!
